• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Countersteering... countersteering... countersteering...

That was my mantra this morning as I took the GF's Vespa out for a spin around the parking lot.

Hadn't been on two-wheels in over a year-- and that was only for a few hours, hadn't been on two-wheels before that ride for many years longer. Whatever "muscle memory" I had before was completely shot this morning, I might as well have been riding for the first time ever. :yikes:

Just man... ridiculously dramatic difference in handling. I know people who spent years on a bike go "What's countersteering?", thinking they do it all natural and stuff. But when you come off of ten thousand miles worth of direct steering, riding a bike ISN'T as easy as riding a bike. :opps:

Still, was fun to putter around on it a little bit, reminded me that as much as I love three wheels, two is just its own unique brand of happiness as well.

Unfortunately, since I got to ride her scoot, the GF insisted on borrowing the Spyder for the first time ever, she liked it a little too much for my tastes / our wallet. Gonna have to nip that in the bud! :joke:

Not a direct commentary on your own experience but...

It still gets me that in some instances people insist they are counter steering their Spyder or that people who ride leaning bikes insist that direct steering cannot be used especially at lower speeds.

I havent ridden any bike except an atv for some time now and I think its going to be no doubt I'm going to pucker quite severely when working out steering arrangements.

Hopefully I can get mounted soon (6 months soon)

There is a difference between the :spyder2: and two wheels concerning the steering. I never had a problem switching from one to the other--but that is just me.
