• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

could this get done today

Of course this could be done today.
We have far better materials and technology.

But first, we'd need an environmental impact study that would require the approval of three government agencies.
Oh, and don't forget this went from England to France, so the European Union would have to study the environmental impact study.
Then the contract would need to be bid out to minority owned contractors to ensure diversity.
Minimum three bids in order to be able to select the lowest bid.
Most companies don't have the capability to build such a huge effort, so congress would need to pass a waiver to allow one bid on the contract.

I guess this is what vided meant (sheepish grin)

:agree: This was one topic that never was covered... :banghead:
It's amazing what a determined Wartime machine can accomplish...

Now there was a piece of history that I did not know about. Amazing some of the things they came up with during WWII.

Ditto: on the pipeline comments today. Alaska has been playing the pipeline game for years. (Natural Gas) as well as the famous on again/off again pipeline that they want going down from Canada to lower 48.

Industry on Parade?

I seem to remember seeing that on an old TV series, when I was a kid, called Industry on Parade.
