• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Could be compitition for the Spyder

I like them both. I drove a slingshot at my dealer and it was a blast to drive. I am on my second spyder because it is a blast to ride. It is real simple to me, the Spyder is one wheel away from being a true motorcycle but, for me, more fun than a motorcycle . The slingshot is one wheel away from being a car but a lot more fun than a car to drive. The two are truly different machines. Both are fun and enjoyable in a big way.

AGain, the spyder can be used as a daily ride, the slingshot will never be so. it looks like it will be an awesome
machine but i would only buy it in addition to having the :spyder2: not a replacement.

I'm curious to know why the Slingshot couldn't be used as a daily ride ???????

Is it because there were a few posts from members here (that are highly misinformed) saying there wasn't any storage. The slingshot has way more storage than a RS,ST,F3 and probably a little less than a RT (comparing cubic inches). There is a RS size trunk compartment behind both seats and a big glove box on the passenger side

This doesn't even count when your riding solo and have the huge passenger floor area and a bucket seat to carry stuff with you. If you add that in, the RT losses...... By a lot !!!!!! Not bashing, just informing.

BTW.... Slingshot has a Two year factory warranty that can be extended up to five years.

I for one would use it as a daily commute vehicle if it was a non-:ani29: riding day.

I do foresee a problem with keeping idiots off the SS though. The SS will really be a people magnet IMO.

Randy, In States that will require a Helmet... (Like ours); that's going to chew up a lot of the available space. Throw some raingear, or extra tools in it... you're just about done.

That's right; you had the GS model... no storage!
The RTs have a pretty nice amount of useable space... plus an available trailer, for the leftovers from Christmas Dinner!! :D

Well guys,,,this has turned into an apples and orange comparison again. This thread reads like a debate between the two machines. Quite honestly if I spend 20 plus thousand dollars on a toy to ride, or drive, I am going to say I like it. To say different would be the same as saying I wasted my money. That would make me not look too smart now wouldn't it ? I am not going to make negative comments about something that someone is enthused about doing for recreation or a hobby even though I may think it is a waste of time. For instance, I don't play golf, never have never will. Got my reasons but you may not agree with me. But that's o..k. if you love it that's great! have a ball. I am glad you enjoy it. I don't hunt either. That's just me, a lot of guys love it and that's great! I am not negative about them doing it. That's great if they enjoy that sort of thing. All I am saying is just because we have different opinions about things we don't need to be negative or get into debates of weather one is better than the other. To me the only debate would be is the top of the line model slingshot worth the money over the base model? OR is an RT limited Spyder worth the extra money over the base RT or RT S.
O.K.,, that's my thoughts. I must not have anything to do or I wouldn't set and type this much.

I too was attracted to the cool factor of the Slingshot, but before the local dealer had one, I thought they were going to be $30K+ and I found a good deal on a 2011 RSS. Finally the local dealer got one and I looked at it and say that it was $20K-$25 with tax etc. It was raining so I gave him my card and told him to call when the weather was better. In the meantime, I started reading their forum. The bottom line is that most if not all of them have QC issues. It looks to me QC wise the you should be buying these at Harbor Freight. Apparently, so far all of them have a few issues, from fitment, paint, nuts and bolts missing/loose. Also a few people had to lock up the brakes and one rear ended someone saying that the braking power was sub par. Also sudden acceleration, I can't even list all of the issues that people are reporting.

This should get worked out, but I for one will wait until the 2016 SL to even think about it. Also the dealer still hasn't bothered to call me and there have been many great riding days.

they sit low enough that I wasn't sure if I could get back out of it. Thought I'd have to go face first into my hands then knees. Wasn't pretty.

Did anybody get a video of this?? :dontknow: :D
Seriously; I think that I figured it out:
Step in, and get both feet in place, grab the steering wheel , and sit down.
Egress is just about the reverse order... just grab the wheel, before trying to stand up! ;)
