There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Cost for new tires

I called my dealership to setup an appointment for routine service and new tires. They won't put on anything but OEM and I don't have an independent (that I know of) that will work on the Spyders. I am in the Northern Virginia area if anyone knows of something besides a dealership.

My question is this, they quoted me $95/per for fronts and $190 for the rear plus labor. Those prices for parts seem somewhat high. Any thoughts?

Thanks, Doug

That sounds normal for the front but a little high for the rear. Not only are Kenda tires crappy but they are expensive too.

Free install if you buy the tire at Ride Now Sports. (40 plus dealers nationwide) New compound rear is $189 installed.

I love my kenda's!

PRICES

.The STEALERS ( :roflblack: ) charge what they do because they think they can....... Taking off the front wheels is not really more difficult than changing them on your car ..... ANY tire shop can mount and balance the fronts with any car tire that will fit ( there are LOTS of choices )..... If you have Zero capabilities ....then you are the STEALERS mercy ..... sorry but that's the truth ......Mike

Mike you are right there. I am not a Ride Now Fan ( my wife sold the CEO/owner) a home but that is another story for another time).

I did feel the free install was a fair dinkem deal and the OEM tire price was fair @ $189 installed. At 76 and artificial body parts I opted not to have to "ice down" and be in pain for a week. I do have the capabilities far beyond changing the tire including the tools and large shop but these days I have to weigh the pain factor. I have done most of my own work for 65 years of riding and do love working on them but not so much anymore. I do admire those though who can still do the on your knees and belly work. Nothing like that good feeling of "The Zen Art of Motorcycle Maintenance".

I just ordered a pair of kumho's from amazon for 154.00 delivered. With my points deducted they are costing me 36.00. I do my own mounting and balancing so that makes for a good deal.

Here's the thing....

You can get better deals online for tires especially the Kendas. That's where I got mine, one set fronts and two rears and now I got the Arachnid rear also online. if the wheel is off the roadster any tire shop will mount and balance. If you get your dealer to pull the wheels and you run them down they are off the hook....

Find yourself a new dealer...
An aftermarket rear tire can be had for around $85 bucks or so, and there's options for up front that start at less than $70 bucks...

Can Am Tires

Just installed a pair of Federal front tires and a Kuhumo rear. Total costs for tire, balance and mounting was $202.00. Tires were bought on line, shipped free, no tax. I expect this set to last a great number of miles, barring damage may be the life of the bike.

By the way I have a Kenda rear tire with less than 300 miles on it, not damage for sale. Any interest send a PM. If this should not be post here just move it.

Good Luck

Great Book

Jack:"Nothing like that good feeling of "The Zen Art of Motorcycle Maintenance"". - that is a great book. Keep it in a prominent space on the book case and reread it every so often.
