• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Corbin Seat RTS

Hi All :D

I,m picking up my Heated Corbin seat, trunk back and arm rests to-day and plan on installing them Tues.

Anyone that has done this themselves and has some TIPS it would be greatly appreciated .

I only installed the seat but learned the hard way, hang onto those nuts and bolts, they are a real pain to recover depending on how they land. Install is pretty easy and straight forward folling the included instructions.

:congrats: I love my Corbin

Just a couple of things in addition to the previous post. Make sure you get the instructions for installing everything. I think I recall a few here that didn't.

I also think that you might find the installation of the armrests fairly tedious. I know it was for the tech at Corbin who installed mine, and I'm not sure they were installed properly. You might want to call Corbin on the armrest installation.

I agree with Lamont. Additionally, when closing your seat, watch out that the latch for the "gas door flap" doesn't hit the tupperware.

I get around the latch problem by opening the fuel door every time I lift the seat.

I tried with the locking pin in place. Then I couldn't get it unlocked and had a heck of a time releasing it. Took the pin off now no problem, vey comfortable seat.

I tried to find the post about someone who installed the armrests and recommended installing washers to make the armrests more stable or tight ?

All good advice above. I have installed two Corbin seats on spyders now. One on a GS and one on my current RTS. Hang on to the nuts and bolts--big time. Leave the locking pin off--you wont need it--and its more bother than its worth. Enjoy your new seat. Many people, including myself, feel that it takes about 1000 miles to "break in" the seat.

I'm the one that made that suggestion. I, along with a couple of others, do not feel that the armrests were put on securely. Mine were installed at the Corbin plant. I haven't gone back to have this problem corrected, but others have and say that the correction is really good. I will be doing the same. Perhaps talking to Corbin about this will resolve the problem or issue. I just felt that washers (large) would help. I could be wrong, and Corbin may have a different solution.

:2thumbs: Just finished my Corbin Heated seat, back pad and armrest install . Took about 5 hours and I lost a 10mm socket somewhere in the bowels of the Spyder . Got the Lamont cut in the seat and the web stitching. It took me about an hour just to fish the wires for the heated seat. All in all one of my favourite mods as I think it looks pretty cool. Pics to follow if I ever get done with the mods I had bought while waiting for the RTS Limited .

I've set time aside Thurs afternoon and Fri. to install the chrome foot peg support bracket, passengers foot peg, drivers foot peg and brake pedal .

Come on Spyderfest . Got snow again Wed morn.

Is the "locking pin" you speak of the lock you unlock to raise the seat? I plan to get a "Lamont tractor seat" one of these days and was wondering....thanks.

What is a ball park price of a non heated Corbin seat with backrest and no interest in a passenger seat...I ride alone.

I guess I can get Corbin to move the "seating area" back a couple of inches....long legs here.

:spyder2:

Yes the pin is the one that latches when you close the seat and then you need to push down and turn your key to unlock .I played with mine for about 2 mins. and said the heck with this and just removed the pin ! The pin was out by a good half inch .:yikes:

Just call Corbin and tell them what you want and they will tell you what they want .

Corbin a site sponsor on the home page .
