• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Corbin seat question

Hi,

We were looking at a used 2011 Blue RTS (to add to our current 2011 Red RTS) that had the Corbin seat on it. The seat would not lift up at all. Is that normal? Does anyone have a link to the seat install directions so I can see how hard they are to remove should we decide to buy it? I know lots of people like them, but it was too hard for our tastes.

Thanks.

Push down on your key an turn it to the right at the same time picking up the seat on the right side. you may half to adj it to make easier .

Tried that... just like on the one we currently have, but this other used one with the Corbin just wouldn't release.

The locking pin on the Corbin may be a little out of adjustment. Push down on the saddle as you turn the key.

Try giving the seat a rap just below the glove box while releasing the key latch. Many are adjusted too snug to release. Then if that works, remove the latch. It is not needed.

Thanks. If we go back to look at it again I will try the push down on the seat trick. I shoulda thought of that as that is what happens with the frunk sometimes.

Corbin Seat Tips

Get yourself a big handed helper. You stand on the L.h side and operate the key to release the lock.

Turn the key and you both try to lift the seat. If it does not have your helper smack the seat where your R leg would be if sitting on the seat. Repeat the key and lift procedure.

If the previous did not work , try wiggling the seat a little bit then repeat para two.

When you finally get to open get down low with a flashlight and look at the back half of the seat and you will see a folded steel bar with a roller washer on it. NOTE the way it is folded.

Now to get it to reopen easier do the following:

Fold the steel prop the opposite direction Corbin folds them the wrong direction in the box. I fought my seat for a year and one day after an hour fight in the garage I got it to open and just barely set it down. Without locking I noted the clearance space. Reversed the prop an noted the clearance space was less then before. Slammed it into lock and reopened it the first time. Been opening every tie since then

Not much to add here. It does sound like the locking pin is stuck. The suggestions are right on. I have a Corbin seat and do not use the locking pin. The seat stays down just fine without it. :roflblack::roflblack:
