• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Corbin: $2000 for defected saddlebags- Not Fair treatment

i bought the same bags for my F3. After waiting 3 1/2 months for something i had to pay in full in advance, they came not color matched even though they said they would be. So here is only solution they will accept. Send bags back plus a painted piece off my bike so they can color match. I have no idea how long I will be without my bags this time. I have a 2015 black F3 which in light has a slight metal flake and a slight grey tinge. What they sent me was solid gloss black. I asked why they told me Corbin had all the CanAm Spyder color codes when I ordered the bags but now they tell me they can't match color without actual sample off my bike. I bought directly from their Daytona store and all they can say is they need permission from company to do anything. So bottom line their mistake is my problem.
 
Why are we as a group still buying their products after all the crap they put their customers through!!!!
That crazy, we need to stop until they get there act together. We wouldn't put up with from other companies, so why them.....
 
A friend of mine is going through a very similar problem (fit and finish) for something similar to the F3. Just in case they are reading this, I'm not going to be more specific and cause any issues for him, but they don't seem to learn from their mistakes.

My my dealer and I have been speaking with Corbin on many occasions. Bags were returned for repair a while ago and I finally received confirmation of shipping to be delivered by next week. My dealer knows that if there is one thing wrong with my bags at all I am returning them for a full refund. They agreed. I didn't realize this was an issue with all the bags. I thought mine was an isolated incident. What should I specifically look at , talking about the leaking and unlatching issue, when I go to pick these things up. Do I just lock them and lift up on the lid to pop them open? Aesthetics are one thing but not staying latched and water infiltration is another.

Received a call that my bags have arrived. Dealer informed me that they were better than the first set...however... the lid on the left bag overhung the box and he knew that I wouldn't accept them. He refunded my purchase.
I guess the only perfect set was sent to Lamont. :mad:
 
My Corbin bags finally arrived after 4 Months and a week.
The left side still hasn't been fixed and stuck up about 1/2" and would pop open if you even looked at it too hard.
The right side fits much better but still would barely latch even with the plate adjusted as far as it would go.
I reworked the latch plate by welding on a small piece of 1/8" stainless plate to the underside.
This helped pull the lid down and almost flush and also moved the latching edge back 3/8" so the latch would fully catch.
The right side is now flush and the left is almost flush and both close securely.
The mounting holes on both also needed to be opened up as they were 1/4" off also as others have found.
I felt sad and embarrassed to see Corbin and "USA" stamped in the plate signifying "American craftsmanship" or "built with pride in the USA".
There is no pride in workmanship letting a knowingly defective product go out like this over and over.
Molds, jigs, computer programming, it is understandable in manufacturing that anything can and will go wrong at times, but you stop production and fix it.
For a company of this magnitude to take a trusting customers money up front and make them wait for so long only to keep sending a product that is knowingly defective Is disgraceful.
They had time to make a new smuggler top case but can’t find the time to fix the left lid.

Shame on you Corbin.

Well...seeing too many people these days getting crappy bags from Corbin. I will make sure that I let all the people I know, how crappy they are, and not to waste their hard earned money on them. Paying 2G for crap quality bags is ridiculous. I bought some saddlebags for my Valkyrie for only $300 and they are 10x the quality of Corbin.....and they are made in China!!!!!

We were leary of them from the start which is why we put on some Kappa bags on my wife's F3. I am sure glad we did. They only cost us $500 with the Givi mounting brackets.

Shame on you Corbin!!!
 
Why are people still buying them???? As long as we support them with our money they don't need to fix it. You spent two grand then had to fix them yourself that is ridiculous.
But I am glad to see they fit with your backrest..
My wife and I love that backrest, good quality and excellant workmanship, Corbin could learn a lot from you. Take care, DJ

Corbin is all hype

All I hear from these types of forums is how great aftermarket parts are. I bought a Corbin smuggler seat for victory. I spend a lot of time and money painting the trunk. Then I go to fit it, none of the screw holes line up and I have to take a file to what I just painted. I'm really cautious about aftermarket stuff and people writing fake reviews to justify their mistakes. I can count on a few fingers the number of parts that I bought aftermarket, that had truthful reviews. SmoothSpyder is truly fantastic, the rest not so much.
 

Mike Corbin (if he is still the owner) I guess has not changed since my Harley days. Same problems with seats and customer support. Hard to believe or is it that they are still in business. They highly promote the name and most of the not informed innocent people get burned by ordering a name and not a quality product that the company will not support!

I think a lot of people that leave good reviews on not so great products is because they want to believe they spent their hard earned money on a great product so they're almost trying to convince themselves it was a good product. And some people just don't want to admit what they chose to buy wasn't really that great.

Like when you buy a nice new Mercedes and it's in the shop non stop. The people at work are in love with it and say how great it looks, then they ask how you like it and you say "oh it's great, I love it". Meanwhile you drove the wife's Hyundai because the Mercedes is in the shop.
 
Great timing on this, my son was about to order a Corbin seat for his Honda. I was able to stop that dead.

I greatly appreciate the site, and know that you balance many interests, some of which compete with each other.

Not accepting ad revenue from a vendor isn't an easy thing to do, but with Corbin it may be an avenue to consider.
