This past Saturday night we was riding in the canyon south of Amarillo, when we hit a wet stream crossing, all the crossing (5) up to this was dry or only had an inch or 2 of water. The 6th crossing not marked saying the water was deeper, and across we go. The water came up to the middle of the front tires. As we came out of the crossing, the Engine Check light comes on and then the High Temp and Limp mode. After an very nice LEO gave us a ride back to the RV and the next morning, we took the RV to get the :spyder2:, and we drove to Albuquerque, sunday so Monday we would be at the dealers nice and early. Delivered the :spyder2: to the dealer and he called yesterday afternoon to let me know he was hoping to have a new Cooling tank in by Thursday and he was hoping to get me the :spyder2: back to me by Monday. I ask him why he could have the repairs done by Friday.
Being that I took the parts off that have to be removed to get to the cooling tank, so I could see what was wrong, I just left them off and now I will have to reinstall them or pay them $44. for them to put it back together. so looks like I will have to put the parts back on. But we all know that they will charge the Warranty for the complete job.
So the moral of all this is watch for deep water, even is it isn't marked as being deep. Hot cooling tank (5 bars) and cool stream can make the cooling tank rupture.
