• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cooler Seat

Have a 2016 RT-S and I love it so far. One issue I have is that the damn seat makes my butt sweat like crazy on hot days, especially when it is parked in a parking lot and just retaining the heat from the sun. I have looked around, but can't seem to find any kind of vented/cooled seat....maybe it is just a weird problem, LOL...but you guys have any suggestions to keep my rear-side cooler on the hot days???

Little checking

Have seen many with the beaded seat. Others use the sheepskin seats as well as air hawks. There are quite a few. There are some light covers for when parked in the sun that also helps keep the photo op people off...

The stock seat has a plastic film under the vinyl for waterproofing. The Ultimate Seat doesn't. Since switching, my RT is comfortable for hours on end. No sweating. The trade off is the need to use an elastic lined seat cover to keep water from soaking in during a downpour. In my experience, well worth the inconvenience.

Corbin now makes a seat which not only offers electric heating, but also cooling. Check it out at www.corbin.com

Mesh pants and light whatever under them. I use old mountain biking shorts when it's real hot.

I tried one of those, I could not keep it in place on my RT, if someone wants it, no packaging, u pay the freight I will send it.

I then bought a sheepskin, long wool, cover from the nice fellow at Misty Mountain Sheepskin, wow, great buy, cooler in summer, warmer in the cold, looks great, and he has money back guarantee on fit and comfort.

Spyder Sisters sun cover for the seat:

If you aren't dressed properly, AGATT, particularly textile mesh gear in a light color. It isn't worn just show everyone else you aren't stupid, it keeps you cooler in the heat than exposed skin with a controlled airflow, at least as long as you are moving. With my mesh pants I can sit on a hot seat that has been out in the sun and just barely feel the heat.

When in stop and go traffic I use a small high-speed server fan to blow on my face and upper chest area:

For backside comfort I added a low-cost sheepskin cover I got from IKEA, it helped with sore butt and kept me cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Funny how that works. I don't know how well it would work out in the desert in the summertime. Perhaps one of those wooden bead covers would be better?

Sheepskin for sure.

No doubt this is the quickest and easiest fix.
Even the old black one I had is a lot better.

BUT.....I plan to order a Russell seat soon......and get a fabric top in hopes of better ventilation.

Anyone with a DayLong fabric top that can report on the heat factor ??

Daylong with fabric cover

Yes, I had fabric on my Daylong seat for my BMWR1200GS. Loved it. I've had fabric on a couple of seats and it is much cooler, and I live in AZ.

Beadrider, Put one on before my IBA SS1K, buddy tried the sheepskin, we rode 1000 miles together and I was coollllll, buddy took his soaking wet sheepskin off half way through the day. He was .... not so cool.

Additional benefit is it keeps your but dry (drier) in the rain.

Lots of choices here. Sheepskin is probably the least expensive. Get a good one though. Imitation will not hold its insulating qualities and will matt down like a terrycloth towel.

The only problem with sheepskin is they are just plain UGLY! Looks like you picked up a little road kill for dinner on the way home!:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:
