Coolant mixture: your opinions?

After spending several weeks ryding in S. Fla in Feb with temps usually 75--85, I have to say I did not see any measureable improvement in the heat levels using LP. Maybe someone with a more serious heat problem might see more benefit but I cannot see any real justification for spending the $$ on this product....

Sorry to hear that. I have not put mine in yet and it's been too cold to test it out anyway. Still, at 75-85 you may be running close to the thermostat temp which would not make any difference no matter what coolant you used. I'm holding out hope that running in triple digits things might be different.

From experience with both my previous Yamaha YZ426f and my current KTM250exc, I run 70/30 with water wetter.

Both of these race bikes would dump coolant with the recommended oem coolant setups.

The YZ was the worst, big single cylinder 4 stroke with minimal sized radiators. It would leave traces of coolant if left to idle any short bit, or worse if ridden hard in slower in slower terrain.

Drained it and ran the 70/30 with water wetter and the situation subsided.

The KTM was similar but not as bad.

Funny, I had a Yamaha WR400F and I was really glad it had the overflow bottle on the subframe, because it was constantly boiling over. Never did "solve" the problem, but since it had the catch bottle I was never overly concerned.
