• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How many SpyderLovers members are from CT? This info might be of help statistically in getting CT to move on a 3 wheel DMV Licensing/testing program.

Thanks for the reply. However, the search gives many members with no postings and old memberships. I am interested in active members here. Other forums, for the most part, duplicate as this is THE best Spyder forum.

Contacting DMV, even with having some connections, gets no information without paying. (Unless there is an active crime being investigated.) This State is currently looking for a way to charge you to breathe. I am sure CA is the same. :roflblack:

Sorry I didn't reference your thread when I started this thread. I had hoped responses would be helpful.

It is time for CT Lawmakers and Policymakers to respond. Lack of accomadation borders on discrimination.

looks like this plea for Stand up and be Counted for Connecticut Spyder owners is not going anywhere,
too bad, will continue to do my thing on my 2009GS "Lone Rider" .
Cooperstown NY "Baseball Hall of Fame" could be a nice destination ride for us.

Windsor Locks here. There's at least two more in my area that I know of. I saw an RT riding with a another two wheeler through town. And there's a 2011 RT SM5 for sale a couple of streets from me.

I also have seen someone on a Kandi 250 driving up and down Rte. 75. Cheap Chinese knock-off of a GS.

3 Wheeler licensing progress

Hi All,
FYI - I'm happy to report good progress is being made on this. (see thread: Connecticut riders can you help?). Senator Scott Frantz: [email protected] and Representative Rick Lopes (on the transportation committee): [email protected] are working on the legislative aspect of it. We are also working with BRP. BRP has offerred the state two free loaner spyders for use during training/testing. Bob Tizzo of Land N' Sea Marine in Waterbury CT is also involved and willing to get the state more loaners, and to participate in any demos or information sessions. BRP is also in the process of scheduling "demo days" at Foxwood casino tentatively for sometime in late September when the state legislature is back in session.

You can help by sending Scott Frantz and Rick Lopes an email indicating your support for special handling of 3-Wheeled licensing in the state. They are up for re-election in the fall, so the more of you that let them know you're watching, the better.

Do you happen to know who from the DMV Bob Tizzo is working with?

Sorry - No. I'm sure Bob has contacts within the DOT but in this case, the effort traces back to me and I've been working with BRP and the politicians. Last word I had, BRP had made the offer of the free loaners and Mr. Frantz was going to give them a contact name. I don't know if he's done that yet.

Welcome to the Spyder family Hulksdaddy! Hope to see you around and events and maybe do a ride together sometime.

Sounds like a plan mindman! Are there generally posts on here about when rides are coming up?

There hasn't really been a lot going on in the way of CT rides, but the Spyderlovers forums in general are great. For example there are several of us from CT going to Spyderquest at Lake George NY Sept 11-13. The home page has a link to info for that. If you are interested in attending, registration ends in early August. My wife and I went last year and had a blast. It was our first rally of any type ever and it hooked us for sure. Right now I think the count of Spyders registered is around 120 with most spyders having 2 people so it's gonna be big.

I'm in Deep River, CT.

New to to the Spyder world. Was on a HD Sportster, but my buddy arthritis made the change necessary. Having a blast on the new bike! (7 weeks and 6,000 miles)
