• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Complaint Forum

I don't understand this post. Are you advocating a new forum for people to post complaints about this website?

Won't work....

they would all be in agreement...where is the fun in that. Simply state your case and if your wanting a response accept what you get. Now if your looking to form a mob then find another site...jmo

:agree: with Gene; I think!
Having a place to blow off some stream might be useful; as long as it doesn't become a Lynch mob! :yikes:
Divergence of opinions is always a welcome thing... just as long as everybody can keep it civil, and just agree to disagree, when it becomes necessary.

a separate forum for those irreversibly unhappy with BRP.

I'm pretty sure this is not what Lamont had in mind when he put this forum together.

If you think this is something that is necessary, my suggestion would be to put a forum together and get like minded people to join...

Name of the site

When he started this site back in 2007 Lamont chose the name 'SpyderLovers'.

I think the purpose of the site now is the same as it was then, for those who love or at least appreciate the offerings from BRP on the Spyder scene.

As Lamont noted in his opening thread we all don't have to agree on everything but each user should show respect for other's opinions.

It would seem to me if the site users only reason to post here is to denigrate or complain about the product they are in the wrong place and perhaps need to start their own site.

It also seems to me that Lamont has been remarkably tolerant of some recent posts.

There will not be a complaint section on this site, this is "Spyder Lovers" and that will always be the main focus of this site. You are free to voice your opinion as always but the folks that cross the line repeatedly will be removed from the site. If you have sold your Spyder and only visit this site to provide a negative slant to everything Spyder or BRP you too will be removed from the site. You can go to whatever new ride forum you have now and bash BRP. We all know that there are problems from time to time and there are those who have never had any problems, those folks are less likely to vent about how great BRP or the Spyder is than those who have had issues. That gives the perspective that all Spyders have issues and that just isn't the case, for the most part it's just like any other product made by man.

I'll keep this forum as open and free as possible but I won't let the few take control over this site with their constant negative slant. If you're not happy here or with your Spyder then might be time to move on. I know misery loves company but you'll not fine that here much longer. I plan on being more active here now that my personal life is getting back in order. :doorag:

This is why I would like to be able to read this board

"That gives the perspective that all Spyders have issues and that just isn't the case, for the most part it's just like any other product made by man."

without the mess which appears in threads with increasing frequency. Or it appears to me to be increasing frequency. And further if someone expresses their opinion about not having any problems, it also seems that person is attacked by the same group of posters. Having different opinions is absolutely fine. What I am reading appears to me be attacks on personalities just because a different opinion is voiced. I may just have to figure out who to ignore I suppose.

Doug,
Fun; isn't it? ;)
I fall into the "I LOVE this dang thing!" category... I don't actually recall ever having been attacked for "waving the flag", but I have seen it happen, and it's very frustrating.
It seems that some folks just can't stand the idea of someone else having a good time... :banghead:

Bob, just a one word response

AMEN!

Do I mind if others are happy?

I am delighted that others are happy with their Spyders. I have noted several times I am blessed to be able to ride almost anything at almost anytime. My Spyder IS my choice. I just cannot see anything else sitting, waiting for me to ride it, ever again.

I'm a new "B" to this site

:lecturef_smilie:and my impression of the site was that it was a group of :spyder2: lovers and owners who helped others of their kind learn to ride their :spyder2: and help them to solve problems. I don't feel it's a worthwhile site if posters come here to argue and bash :spyder2: and their riders; and BRP. I've always tried to do my best to be a problem solver and not become a problem maker, hopefully (I always have to keep working on that one).

Hey, by the way does anyone know the fault code for a failing fuel pump or is there a code for that issue? My 14 RTS came with that funny pre-start noise and I didn't even have to pay extra for it. :roflblack:

I came across two codes that dealt with the fuel pump:
P0231
P0232
Here's to hoping that you never see them; except in here!

I really can't see the point of a Complaint Forum here or anywhere else. As we all know, BRP and dealers
check out most sites. So realistically how helpful do you think they will be if you bag them on a Public Forum??
