• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Communications System (My Dream)

Been doing a lot of research the last couple of weeks, looking for a Comm systems that works the way I want it to. Maybe what I want is out there and I just have not found it yet. I think the ideal system would be like the Starcom, JM Int. IV or Motocom ST-1 however instead of wired headsets use two bluetooth transmitters one for each headset. It seems if you try to bluetooth more than one device to a single device it creates conflict, ie phone and intercom or phone and a seperate MP3 to a headset. I would like to have cell, MP3/Tuner, CB/GMRS, GPS and intercom all controlled by a hub device (wired) with adjustable priority then simply blue toothed to each helmet on its own bluetooth connection.

I might be a little confused on exactly what you are asking...

Why don't you just get a smart phone instead, like the Droid X.
I have all my mp3 music on it, and when I use it via bluetooth with my Scala Rider G4, I can listen to my music (great clarity in stereo), talk on the phone (also great clarity), listen to FM radio (built into the G4), and can pair wth my wifes G4 so that we can easily talk to one another up to almost a mile apart. The G4 will priortize all of this for you. Not sure if this is what you needed the CB for, but it pretty much does all or most of what you are asking. This is all wireless by the way.

I am presently using BT interphone headsets paired to a motorola backflip Droid cell and the sound and intercom works great. However the intercom stays on all the time ruling out music when your using intercom, and if you connect more than one BT device to the headsets at the same time it does take time to get it all turned on in the right order for it all to work together. I would really like to throw CB/GMRS radio in to the system and make it all work together with the priority going to the Cell, GPS/Radar detector, CB, intercom, and music in that order. This is why I think a wired system to a hub/controller then using a bluetooth connection to each helmet separately. This way you could also share music and phone calls or CB with your passenger as well.

Oooohh, that's quite the expectation then, lol.

OK, last idea I have for you....

J&M AUDIO INTEGRATION MODULE (or one of the others mentioned on their site)

http://www.wingman.com/GL1800Audio.htm

Designed for Goldwings, so I'm not sure about the wiring compatability, but if you talk to NoMagic  , that guy is great and very helpful and I bet has the answer you seek. Personally, I think the spyder community should rename him The Oracle ;)

You're 100% correct about the Bluetooth priority. I searched for a long time to try to find anything, even software that would allow control over the priorities. I seriously considered even doing a bike wifi network to make it work. But... nada. Hence the reason I went my direction with the audio mixer. What I don't have is the second transmitter link to my wife's helmet. I'm likely going to add that. I'll simply 'y' the mixer output and add a second Sony transmitter paired for her helmet.

FYI- I did learn a few things after a 80 mile ride a couple of weeks ago. I had tested everything in the garage with the engine off. DUH! I have some engine noise I need to remove (it changes with RPM). I'm 99% sure adding one DC level filter in line with the power to the amp will do the trick. Other than that, it was perfect. Simultaneous FM + navigation voice from the TomTom and when my bride & I wanted to talk, just tap the big button on the helmet and whala, duplex great noise free comms. Yes, the music goes away during comms.

I realize your asking for a little more and different. Maybe if enough of us ask for it....

You would think it would be out there already, all it needs to be is a wired Starcom/J&M Integr/Motocom or similar system with the headset connectors hooked to a BT transmitter/receiver then pair them to BT headsets.

Do you have a GPS in that mix so it also is bluetoothed to your helmet speakers?

Dick, what was that setup you and Irish shared last year on the 66 run, GMRS?
I had(have) the G4 and Irish had the Q2, I believe. He forgot his charger so it was kind of hit or miss with for him with the adapter he bought along the way. When it was charged we talked fine.He bought a G4 on the way back,In Reno, I believe. We tried to use a couple of Midland radios as well. WE couldn't integrate them into the Scala systems so we ditched those pretty quick.
Great trip though, thanks again for the escort into L.A.

I just got the Sena SMH-10 dual setup. The helmet install is a breeze. Haven't had a chance to use them yet but the reviews were terrific.
