• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hey everyone! :3

You might have seen me around stalking everyone with a Spyder and bombarding them with questions. Well, now I'm proud to announce that a little Spyder will be joining the family. It was heartbreaking to decide on the right machine for me. I'm still having doubts now even after the purchase but hopefully these will soon go away. I'm from Belgium so it was very slim pickings regarding these three-wheelers. Decent Spyders are very hard to come by here. One particular dealer however made me a deal I could not refuse...

So in the end I purchased a new Magnesium 2012 RT-S that was being ignored by everyone. The dealer wanted it gone desperately so I actually felt sorry for it, haha~ The dealer threw in a Zumo 660 which they'll install for me as well as 4 years of warranty and travel assistance. That's not too shabby for a new machine that has no miles on it so far. Off course it still has the old engine but upgrading to a 2014 RT or higher would have cost me about € 10.000 more. So that's a lot of gas money I will now be spending on this machine instead.

If all goes according to plan I will be able to pick it up this Saturday morning so I'm quite anxious. Honestly, I can't wait to get on the machine for my very first ride. Anything I should know in particular regarding this model or driving the RT in general?

Here are some pictures I took in the showroom of the new family member, he'll be joining a BMW R1200R Classic that belongs to the hubby~ (Unfortunately that meant saying goodbye to my BMW F800GT...)

Any names for the beast that spring to mind?

congrats, I had 2 2012 RT-S both silver. one was a manual shift and the other was semi-auto. both were great bikes, you will not be sorry. :ohyea:

:congrats: I'm very happy you found a Spyder at a good deal. I know you agonized over which model to get, but I think you did well with the RTS. And thanks for the pics. We love pics here.

Is it manual or semi-automatic?

Got mine too!

I got my 2014 RTLimited SE6 in August, so I know your joy. I had looked for several years. Had a hard time giving up my Harley Road King, so I kept it too!

CONGRATS! Siara ,I know you took a long time to make the decision. You're going to love it. I own a 2013 RT And I feel the 998 has plenty of power. Yes the 1330 would be nice ,but my RT runs just Great with my wife and I on it. And I'm not a small guy. Have fun and enjoy your new ride.

You will love - it's the BEST of the 990s! Remember that it will take 200 miles (320 KM) to learn to ride it, and not grip to bars too hard!! It will go anywhere your hubby will take his Beemer too!

Enjoy
