• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Comfort seat

Does anyone have any experience with the CanAm Spyder comfort seat from BRP?
Is it significantly better than stock seat? Thanks

I had one on my RS and it was better. But that is only because the stock RS seat has a rounded shape that is very uncomfortable. Your ST has a flat seating area and is also better than the RS seat. I ride with the guy that I bought my comfort seat from and he took it off and put an ST seat on. I would have to agree that the ST seat is more comfortable. With that being said I sold my comfort seat and had a custom seat made by Russell Day Long. I will recommend a Russell Day Long seat to anyone.

I put one on my 2009 RS and also have one on my 2011 RT. IMO--a big improvement over the OEM seat in both cases.

WARNING: Your results may be different. When it comes to seats, one persons favorite is another persons pain.

Good News: The $595 price is about half what other aftermarket seats cost.

I have a slightly used one to sell if you are interested. Its for a 2010 thru 2014 RT. BRP Comfort seat moves you back about 2" giving significantly more leg room and a more relaxed riding position. The comfort seat also has a bit better quality vinyl cover (thicker material) and higher density foam for better weight distribution.

Asking $350 plus actual shipping costs. Its in new condition and has the Utopia quick release backrest mount already installed.

I think I paid about $700 for my Russell Day Long and it comes with a comfort guarantee.

That's a great offer but I have a STS.
thanks for the feedback everyone!

I would say, the just bought comfort seat is a little firmer then the stock 2010 RT seat. It has a better design then the stock seat at the front. I had two seats start to come apart up there. Huge difference in leg position to me. Good Luck

Do you mean you bought the BRP comfort seat or the Russel day Long?

hchays: posted about the Russel Day Long seat. I have no experience with that brand. He used my post as a reference to speak about the RDL seat.

To reiterate: I have purchased two BRP comfort seats for :spyder2:. I like them better than the OEM seats.

I had the BRP Comfort Seat on both of my RS/RSS's and they were better than the Stock Seat.
But I haven't bothered with the Comfort Seat on my ST as I find the Stock Seat on the ST to be
as good, if not better than the Comfort Seat

Wow, didn't expect that. I guess the 2" further rearward was what I was counting on. Are you guys saying that's not the case?

New Guy Perspective

I am 6'4" with long legs and weigh 180, so I don't put a huge load on the seat. Nevertheless, the two inch rearward movement of the lumbar support on the Comfort Seat gave my lower legs a position much more comfortable than the stock one. Two plus hours riding the new Spyder home and my tail felt like an afternoon of couch potato relaxation. FWIW, the price difference between the Comfort Seat and an Ultimate Tall Boy, Corbin or Russell Day-Long was a serious consideration. YMMV.

Amazing!!

Here is a write up I did awhile ago with some very basic dimensions and measurements with a few mentioned seats. Maybe it will help.

Thanks for The link, it was amazing!
It kind of looks like if I want to move rearward I'm going to have to spend big bucks to get a custom made seat.
Youre right about the STS seat, it is SOFT but it bugs me. After a couple hours I'm constantly trying to reposition myself. I'd at least like to sit on the comfort seat and see how it initially feels. I wish my dealer had one.
Thanks again for all your input!
