• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking for input on the optional comfort seat by BRP in comparison to the standard seat and the ones by corbin. I have a ST-Limited

Dont know what model you got but I just intalled a comfort seat on my rs and I like it much better than the oem seat. I do however still use my air-hawk r seat cushion. The combination of the two seems to be the golden ticket for me.

A nice bonus is being able to actually use my highway pegs now. They were effectively useless with the oem seat because ALL your weight goes on your butt when you stretch your legs out.

Just replaced the OEM seat on our ST-S with the Can Am Comfort seat and there is no comparison. Not sure if it is as good as our Ulitimate seat on our RT but then the ST-S is a different ryding style for us.

Comfort Seat on my RS 2012

I changed out to the Comfort Seat on my 2012 RS SE5 and just did over a 2400 mile trip from NV to SD for Sturgis, and I loved it. I was not saddle sore at all and other than mileage reading and clock would not have been able to tell I had ridden that long :) ... I am very pleased with the Comfort Seat. Must add 1086 miles of it was done, going straight through (18.5 hrs) ... only stops were for gas. Longest stop about 15 mins.

Try the Ultimate Seat if Possible

I found the stock seat to be too restrictive for me. I am only 5'9" tall but have long arms and felt really cramped before getting the Ultimate Tallboy seat and riders backrest. After a recent 1300 mile ride with my wife we were both very happy with the decision. We never got sore during the trip and both of us liked the backrest. It kept her a bit more secure to the point where she felt she could almost fall asleep (which she did not). Also, the backrest is designed for the seat wand does not require any cutting to install it (which you have to do with the Utopia backrest). I suggest you try to find someone near you that has both and see if you can try them out. Ultimate does have a 14 day (from date of delivery) trial period. If you do not like it, you can return it. I doubt you will find the same deal on the BRP seat.

Hard to say..!!

I can only speak of the stock vs comfort. RS 2012 sm5 and the seat has made a big difference in both ryders. Driver has more scoot room and the passenger sits straighter not so much forward...

I have both a Corbin seat on one RT and the Comfort seat on the other RT. Had the same on my RS/GS models.

RE: BRP Comfort seat. A definate improvement over the OEM seat. Less mushy and a slightly better seating position. Cost around $500 +

RE: Corbin seat: They have a gas door built in, I like that feature. Corbins are much "harder" feeling and give more support than cush. You either like them or you don't. I have over 50,000 seat miles on Corbin, and it works for me. I also have the backrest. Cost about $750 with backrest.

On either version, I can ride more miles in comfort than on the OEM seats.

during my move to MO from WA, I made a "Slight" detour to Hollister, CA, where I stopped in at the Corbin Factory and spent a day with them custom fitting my seat to me, and my RS. it now rides like a dream. :) I didn't have any major problems with my 09 stock version seat, but it had 47K miles on it, and it was time for an upgrade.

My word of caution to anyone wanting a corbin. be weary of ordering online without stopping by the factory. you'll get the stock cut, and imo, it won't be cut TO YOU. at the factory in Hollister, or Florida, they can custom cut to your but and comfort. :D
