• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Comfort seat installation?

I was installing a new comfort seat, went to hook up gas shock to new seat bottom and no bracket to hook shock too, does anyone know if bracket is supposed to be on bottom of new seat?? Old bracket does not seem to be removable, Need help!:dontknow::helpsmilie:

You have to take all the hardware off the old seat and put it on the new one. The only thing that came with mine was new bolts to install it with. Good luck!!

I called a fellow rider (Hawkiii ) who has the comfort seat and his old seat has the bracket rivoted on the underside and his new seat has the bracket rivoted on the underside, They just forgot to put the Bracket on the underside of my new seat! So if you order a comfort seat I suggest you check the underside of the seat for the rivoted bracket that connects the gas shock to the underside of the seat or you will be very unhappy when your bike is in ten different pieces and no way to attach the gas shock to the seat so it can be raised and lowered.:yikes: Once again QUALITY CONTROL raises it's ugly head for BRP!!!:gaah:

Ours did not come with hardware. Had to take it off the stock seat and install on comfort seat. Took about an hour. Really like the comfort seat. Good luck!

Just ordered one, does it come with installation instructions , I don't have a clue how to remove the stock seat..

Comfort Seat installation

The seat comes with instructions in English and French, at least mine did. Just follow the instructions step by step. I did go to Sears and get a torx socket to fit my 3/8" tools. Made getting the bolt under the tail light much easier. My instructions told me to remove the nut that holds the gas shock to the seat, left the shock attached to the frame. That's a tight fit, not much room to swing a wrench, I picked up a set of metric sockets and combination wrenches. Made the job easier. Everything on the :spyder2: is metric.

Take your time, you will be rewarded.

I posted some time ago about the rubber tabs that break off from the seat (onto the metal frame below)...this is not a big deal, but an easy fix is to use super glue (preferably Loctite...love the stuff)...this will prevent the tabs from breaking off...if you apply it after they break off, you can still get them to lock onto the bottom of the seat, no problem.

BTW, they will break in time, so might as well glue them down from the start...
