• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Comfort Backrest Bracket

I was searching the site for info on the subject of the BRP backrest and bracket. Currently I have the stock seat with the BRP backrest and bracket. I am thinking about changing to the comfort seat. While I am not particularly uncomfortable, I would appreciate a bit more legroom and to be back a bit more from the handlebars. My question is this: Can I order the backrest bracket for the comfort seat WITHOUT ordering the entire backrest? Essentially I want to reuse the same backrest but realize I need a different bracket for the comfort seat. I couldn't find the answer to this particular question in my search. Thanks in advance. Also, if you happen to know a part number that would be helpful.

No One Knows?

Folks, I've had 85 people read this post with no responses? Is there no one that can answer this question? Please?

I don't know for sure but I strongly suspect the answer is no.

Perhaps your dealer can tell you if there is a separate part number. Probably not a question that comes up very often.

Sorry,

Gary

There was some talk early on that the comfort seat had a slightly different set up and the brackets were not compatible. I also do not have the specific answer. Since the exact answer is still not forthcoming, my recommendation also is to check with the dealer.

BRP being willing to sell just the bracket instead of the whole set up is probably a long shot. Maybe with a little help from your dealer, that can be changed?

Let us know what happens.

You have to order a new one. The comfort seat backrest has shorter shafts and a different mounted braclet. The OEM has as taller drivers seat back than the comfort seat. They are interchangeable.

Well That Sucks

According to my dealer (and some of you), I cannot order the backrest bracket for the comfort seat separate from the backrest itself. While the backrest is interchangeable, the brackets are not. So right after I spend money getting the backrest (and bracket) fro the stock seat, they expect me to shell out the same amount of money for a new backrest and bracket AND extra bucks for the comfort seat. Yeah. I don't think so. I can live with the current setup for now. If I find that I need a seat that gives me additional legroom, I'll go aftermarket and BRP loses my money.
