There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Colorado or Black Hills?

My boss :cus:-ed up our plans to go to Gatlinburg :gaah:, so now we're trying to figure out where to go on vacation the week before Gatlinburg.

We've narrowed it down to the Black Hills or Rocky Mountains. We've been both places, but not on our Spyders. Has anybody ridden both places on a Spyder and can make a recommendation?

I have always wanted to ride the Rocky Mtn highway. I hope to ride the black hills but it is lower on the list. You could still go to gatlinburg.

Haven't done the Black Hills, but did some of Colorado this summer. I'll be oging back to CO many times, I can tell. Lots of great rides.

Thrill of a lifetime

I too haven't ridden the Black Hills. But I can tell you that one of the biggest thrills of my riding life was one year I rode the Trail Ridge Road in the Rocky Mountain National Park. It will take you up over the Continental Divide, above timberline into Alpine meadows at about 12,000 feet. We went from the west, Arapaho Basin to Estes Parks, then into Boulder. Beautiful!!

Tripod :joke:

I've done both, but the Black Hills was on a Valk and Colorado on both the Valk and Spyder. They are different venues, with much more variety in Colorado, more twisties, more to see, greater elevations. Doesn't matter much which bike you ride, both destinations are great.

I'd pick a central point, such as Montrose or Frisco and take daily round trips from there for a week.

Wife and I are leaving for the Black Hills area this Saturday. Swung through there on the way home from Utah last year, just to get a taste of the place and we are mucho looking forward to spending 5 days exploring. Here's the SO cruzing through the Badlands...

this is a thought

call OBAMA. telll him what happened about your boss :cus:. Then quit your job. Obama will send you some MONEY. Then you can go to all 3 places.:yes:

I have ridden the Black Hills twice now and I have to say it is some of the nice and most fun riding I have ever done.

Only problem is I had to keep waiting up for Lamonster. :joke: :roflblack:

Thanks for the recommendations, but now it all sounds good. We'll probably just wake up and head down some road that morning. My idea was to do a big loop to both places, but not sure we have enough time.

I've only ridden the Black Hills, but during Sturgis Bike Week. I'd love to ride them again without all the bikes being there. If you ride the Black Hills you'll have a grin a mile wide when you get done! Enjoy wherever you end up!

If you want to have a real good time when the roads are real nice to ride, without much traffic, take in the annual buffalo round-up, in Custer State Park, on Sept, 28th. (It's always the last Mon. in Sept, if you don't go this yr.).

Rockies have MOUNTAINS (duh). Both have great roads. Black Hills - Spearfish canyon for sure. Route 14 from Black Hills west is one of my favorites. Into WY it goes thru the Big Horns with some great scenery.

Rockies in September - chance of snow increases the later you go.

Can't miss either way. Great ryding.

Ryde safe!
