• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

COLD FEET

We just finished a phone conversation, and he assured me that not only me, but EVERYBODY (with the certificate) will be getting their Spyder SE5's by the promised date of September.

Was this EVERYBODY just those that had a Sept guarantee or does that include those of us with a November Certificate?

"Everybody" meant those that had a September guarantee. I was assured that BRP will meet all promised delivery dates. And maybe even do better. This was a fantastic reassurance to me from a person who is in a position to know. So, now I know for certain that I will be getting mine "by" the date promised.

Glad you're gonna stick it out Derwin !

Not sure if you read it or not... but people at the factory said the SE5 units are going into production NEXT WEEK !

Your dealer in Benton Harbor was supposed to have a Spyder demo last weekend.. but it got cancelled.... I was hoping to go check out the SE5..

This just reminded me, I didn't hear about SE5s going into production next week but I don't doubt it. What I do know (or at least think I know) from the factory tour is that they currently have the capability to build about 80 Spyders per day. However they are only building 40 per day as they are having problems getting enough parts from a certain supplier who is having problems getting enough steel to build the parts. I think they are tranny gears or something, some kind of gears. Once these parts issues are fixed, they will resume full production and they have a production target of about 85 Spyders per day that they are working towards. I think they figure 85 is the max they can build with their current process and at their current level of automation.

You know I'm not trying to start trouble and I'm glad your in, but how can you go from so excited (probably more than anyone) to thats it I'm not getting it back to I'm in....all because of two months difference in shipping. I went through the same things you went thru as far as waiting but never would I of canceled even if it was late, I would of been real upset, but wanted it to much to cancel. It is a lot of money to spend to be so flippant

That's a very good question. I guess the best way to explain it is by telling you that I have many other options available to me. I have many projects on the table right now, and other vehicles that are incredibly exciting coming around the corner. When I first found out about the Spyder SE5, I knew this was indeed one that I had to take a serious look at. When I did my research, and watched the videos, and found everything I could on this thing, I wanted one! So I went to the closest dealership (at the time) and placed an order based on the September delivery. Then I began reading a ton of negative things about BRP and the Spyder deliveries & numbering system. This caused me great concern. When I went to the local tour in Wilmington, Illinois and heard all my fears reiterated, I had enough. It's really just that simple.

Now I have received a call from an individual telling me (with appropriate authority) that all the negative things I've been hearing are simply false, and that my order will be delivered on a date that will make me VERY happy. I had a very long discussion with this individual, and all my concerns were addressed to my satisfaction.

My world does not revolve around the order I placed for the Spyder SE5. I have other projects going, including those I am in the middle of at FlyTheRoadClub.com . I just did not want, nor did I need, the extra aggravation from a company that was shaky on many levels, or so I thought. I have come to learn that BRP is NOT a shaky company, and I can now have complete confidence in them. What more can I say?

Now I am looking forward to getting the vehicle and enjoying it like everyone else. Hope that answered your question/concern.

Derwin,
Looked at the flythe road club and found it very interesting. Some cool toys. Me, I'm sticking with the spyder & I hope you do also. Feel you'll give a great perspective relative to other new or unconventional road machines.

Yep. I agree completely about sticking with the Spyder. It's gonna be a lot of fun to drive around town!
