Coil Pack Fix Questions

It looks like the BRP parts are never going to come in. So, I'm going to attempt this myself. Somewhere on the site (can't find it again) I believe it says to disconnect the negative side battery lead first. Is this really necessary if you're just running two additional ground wires? Also, is there a chance that disconnecting the battery will wipe out the new steering recall patch?

Disconnecting the ground to the battery will not effect the steering software pach. That would be the same as replacing the battery or removing it for winter storage.

Did the coil wire ground myself and didn't touch the battery. No trouble after.
