• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cluster Displays "Bar Code" 2011 RT A/C

In the initial start up proceedure, Key /on, wait, mode, Start button. A few seconds after engine is running, the cluster will white out w/vertical lines, return to Can'Am logo and then shows to be working fine. There is no miss in the engine during this proccess. I'm taking it in this morning for the Reverse Button Recall. I'm mentioning this to see what you:spyder2: have to say compared to the :shocked:Tech @ Dealership.

We have 9500 miles on this, and after reading a thread about Sparkplug Wires, I'm wondering if this could be an issue..

Sounds like the computer is re-booting.What does the screen do when you first start it ?

It's normal for a second, then it whites out for maybe 2 sec. and then as you say appears to be re-booting.. I'm getting ready to head to the shop, went out and started it to warm up.. No problems...

They seem to do that... (I know: that's a horrible answer!:gaah:) I guess that they default to the digital readout and then switch over to the "Gauges" once everybody's up and running and with the program...

It's part of an aborted boot-up procedure. Check your battery cables for cleanliness and tightness (the ones at the battery itself, and make sure the rear frame ground under the seat (negative jumper terminal) is tight. Do not loosen this terminal, though!

If this does not cure the aborted boot-up and the intermittent reverse, it would be best to stop grasping at straws and let the dealer take care of it. Even if you knew the cause, it would be unlikely that you could fix it yourself. I'm not questioning your abilities, but troubleshooting this will probably require BUDS, and the solution will likely require parts, which I'm sure you would rather be on BRP's dime. If the repair entails removing the handlebars, you won't want to struggle with it, either. It is a bear of a job!

This has happened to me a few times. I just shut it off and start over. It comes out of it with the reboot. Dealer has checked BUDs a few times and it doesn't show up on the readout.:dontknow:

Tighten the negative battery cable (from personal experience).:doorag:

Could be bad power connection to the cluster. May even be a bad internal power connection. BUDS cannot detect bad power to the cluster.

Does the gauge perform a 'WOW' when it happens? (pointers go from 0 to full scale and back)

If the 'WOW' happens, it's power to the cluster. If it doesn't, it's power to the LCD board or if the splash screen (Can-Am logo) doesn't show again then it's the connector to the LCD panel itself.

(Note: I am assuming you have all up to date software from the dealer)

It's at the dealer as of this morning. They said I do have an actuator issue for the reverse. {Warranty/Recall}.. I mentioned all the other issues, They tell me that BUDS doesn't print out a fault code report. But I did elaborate on any and all issues we've had. No WOW, just turns white and re-boots. I'll check the connections{Battery} when it gets back home..
