Clunking sound coming from front wheel

Brand new member, love all info!

I just purchased a 2015 RT Limited, after about 40 miles I noticed a "clunking" noise coming from the front left wheel, if I turn/veer right the noise stops, any idea? I spoke with the dealer, he said drop by and we'll take a look, they're 60 miles away!!

to the spyder world and this site. As to the clunking, if you know which one and can lift the wheel of the ground, check that all the lug nuts that hold the wheel on are on tight torque if you can. Then check all around fot loose connections fender braces etc. Check the ball joints. Hope its simple but otherwise they need to make it right...:gaah:

Can you raise the front of your Spyder off the ground? :dontknow:
If you can; try spinning the wheel, and giving it a good shaking. If you got any free movement in there... Get to the dealer even sooner than A.S.A.P.!
(I'm thinking a wheel bearing, or an improperly tightened hub...)

If you have properly tightened lug nuts get it to the dealer; it's on his nickel. Sixty miles is a warm up.

I figured it out

Two lug nuts were loose on the left side, tightened them up and the "clunking" sound went away.

Don't be to thrilled with this news....................your Dealer put those wheels on .....after it came out of the crate..........I would be checking everything or going back and watching THEM check everything .............good luck.......Mike :thumbup:

I checked the torque on my wheels after I got it home and they were all out of spec. The tire pressures were off also. They haven't seen my :spyder2:since they threw it together and never will again. Another thing that burns my buns, the tech programmed his favorite stations in my radio and told me about it like he had done me a big favor. I live 1 1/2 hr. away so even if they're the exact stations I would have picked they don't come in where I ride. Now I've got to clear them all off and start over. They also didn't give me enough gas to get it home and when I stopped for gas I shut it off in first gear, didn't yet know about the foot on the brake to start in gear deal, and had to push it away from the pump 'cause there was a line behind mepps:. After about 10 min. I must have accidentally brushed the brake pedal with my foot at the same instant that I thumbed the starter and she fired up. Instead of fishing for a compliment over filling up my presets I wish he had given me enough basic operating procedures to get me home.

...I feel your pain, I know what a CRAPPY Dealer can be like to deal with......from what you have said I would make a formal complaint to BRP about them...................ask around here to find a better Dealer, I'm not in your area so I can't Help you with that....where in NY are you, I know some other members who live in different parts of the State ............Mike :thumbup:

I'm an hour northwest of Albany, on the Great Sacandaga Lake. I started dealing with Seymour's in Cohoes, they did the heat recall work and I'm real happy with them so far. The dealer that sold me the spyder isn't terrible, from what I read here they are just a bit below average. I got a great price from them, and might buy from them again, but I would have to bring my torque wrench, tire pressure gauge, and gas money with me when I picked it up.
