• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

If you want to stir up the "Dark Side" talk about putting a car tire on back of your Goldwing on the GL1800 forum... now that will toss it up in the air in front of the fan :roflblack::roflblack:

Lets close this thread. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Yup, once a thread has reached a point that you're just beating a dead horse, it's time. I've been on forums where just this so far would have already caused it to happened.

Ohio is a great place ain't it Bob, we have the light & the dark side. Unlike some other states.----Budro

before you install that gas cap either take it to the dealer for proper installation or at least watch Lamont's how to video for proper installation. Don't be reckless

We already go to the dark side, with car tires on our Spyders.

On that note, have a good weekend. You kids behave now.

You have to be careful what dealer you go to some can't even air up a tire without damaging something (no reference to any Can Am dealer). I'd recommend Lamont's video for proper R&R of the gas cap.

Thank You

Thank you Lamonster for this site. Thank You to all the workers and Pit Bull for Spyderfest. It was time to close that thread.:banghead: If anybody wants to change anything I bet they could use lots of HELP next year at Spyderfest!!!!:clap:I try not to complain because people work very hard to put these on. I had a great time.

Lamonster you and I have disagreed from time to time but this site has been the most important part of most of our Spyder ownerships. When BRP rewarded you by making you an Ambassador I think anyone who has been here for awhile clapped out loud.

That being said, and for those who were not there at the beginning, the whole Internet thing has changed and changed and changed. It started out as a scientific exchange network that we used to share ideas and data. Then it slowly commercialized into its present form. There are rare places, like this forum, where the purpose is to make a shared interest and a commercial product better. By trial and error Spyderlovers has done that.

Nobody likes to be shushed. And we Americans have a naive vision of what our rights and democracy is really about. Nothing that has gone on here is against any rule or law. It just feels bad when it happens to you or to something you believe in.

And sorry I missed the kilt. LOL

I really think a few weeks at the BRP Tech School is required. That's how Lamont learned to properly install the gas cap. This is not child's play here folks! This is serious stuff.

Let's see now... It's 'Righty-Tighty, Lefty-Loosey'.... Right? :dontknow:

I've been on a lot of forums in my life and I have never seen the "owner" of that forum authorize the close of a thread. I've read all the replies to several threads about the subject of when and wear the next Spyderfest might be held and didn't see anything other then people voicing their opinion. I can't speak for all of you but I have no time for anyone who tries to squelch free speech, especially mine. Who ever is doing this, shame on you.

I'm done here....

Obviously Nor-Cal doesn't belong to as many forums as he thinks...this forum is NOTHING compared to some music and racing related forums I've belonged to. I've seen owners/mods close and "disappear" threads for next to nothing.

And I always get a good laugh when people complain about "free speech" on private forums/web sites. Methinks Nor-Cal needs to take a sociology lesson...
