Close call

Some of you might have read about the heavy duty ratcheting tie down that I was unable to avoid in New York. I knew that it had destroyed the plastic cover on the left side, but didn't know how close I came to having a major problem from that.

As you can see, part of the plastic loom housing for the wiring was broken. Just a fraction of an inch more and it would have got into the wiring there. Also vulnerable on both sides and just protected with plastic is the lower radiator hose.

This is a longer shot of the left side.

And this is a picture of the left side that has that cover intact.
A really close call indeed. I could picture me on the side of the road trying to splice those back together.......

It would not of helped you , it's only under the frunk
