There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Clicking noise

Greetings to all!

I got to ryde Charlotte today to work (FUN!). It was casual day, so I got to wear jeans, which (to me) I needed to ryde.

It was foggy - the air smelled so good, and I got fairly wet (who knew?), but I have a question...

On the way in, I heard a clicking noise when I was going slow enough (50ish and below). As the speed went up, so did the clicking, and when I put it in neutral, it went away. I checked the tyres, and didn't see anything obvious (it was almost like when we put cards in the bike spokes as kids, just not as noisy).

I am going to call the dealership tomorrow, but I wondered it anyone knew. I know I depend on all of youse guys.

:doorag:
Is the noise coming from the front or back of your Spyder?

I know this may sound stupid but maybe someone snuck up on you and put a card and clothespin on one of your wheels.

That's it!

It went away (I thought) when I rode up to meet the Spyders ride yesterday. We rode up the hills (lots of twists) for about 8 or miles, and then stopped for gas. When I was slowly down to stop at a pump, I could hear it again.

We decided to go ahead and ride (about 100 miles more), and maybe because it was loud (I hit 70mph in some places!!!), I just didn't hear it.

I need to call Kelley (dealership), maybe just bring her in sooner than tha 600 miles (I have 483 miles on her now), and we'll figure it out.

I'll let ya'll know! Oh - it was a GREAT ride -cold, but absolutely great to be able to ride with 2 other Spyders.

It's your front brakes.

Why would it be the front brakes? It's clicking as I move. Do you think the brakes are rubbing? I think I would have smelled that...

I can check them when I get home tonight (open to any and suggestions).

Have know clue why they click. I think it's because of the pad not going back as far due to dirt and sits close to the holes in the rotor and it's making noise. Once you take them apart and clean it's fine for a while. Both mine does this. No smell at all, it's pretty much noticeable at slow speed, especially between buildings, gas pumps, etc.

If it's a kind of a fluttering sound, not too loud, then it's normal. It's due to the drilled rotors as the pads are passing over the holes in the rotors. ;)

I had a clicking noise after I changed my rear tire. My belt tension was too tight. Once I got it adjusted, the clicking noise was gone.

Just a thought..................

:agree:

This sound will only happen when braking-- and is perfectly normal. Mine has done it from day one. Almost like an 'electronic' tic tic tic sound.

I have the clicking noise coming from the front right wheel (from where I sit on it when ryding) on the RTS. Clicks faster when I speed up and slower when I slow down. First I thought the wires came loose from my Brightsides on the fender, but they're secure. I'll check the lug nuts and brakes next after reading some of the posts here. Hopefully it's something simple.

On occasion I get the same tic tic sound from one of the front brakes but I also get it sometimes when not braking, only happens rarely, not worried. Its not a bearing just something to do with the brakes.

click clack catch it before it jumps the track

clicking Please check the front sprocket bolt. If its just a hair loose the sprocket can rock causing this. as example note all the posts about broken and worn front sprocket splines. tighten to 81 ft lbs\111Nm

My clicking noise

Guess I better ask about my clicking noise. Mine seems to be coming from behind the center console. Just had the DPS replaced a month or so back..Spyder rides awsome with the new DPS..No more near death experiences..any ideas on my clicking noise..
