• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

cleaning rims and tires

I was wondering if anyone knows of a product that you can spray on your rims and frame to clean off brake dust and dirt and then hose off. I use to use scrubbing Bubbles on the engine of my C 50 suzki and it did a great job. But I don't know if that would damage the coating on the rims?:helpsmilie:

I recommend using a weaker product and wiping it off. The products made for hosing things down seldom work as well as claimed, and are very strong chemicals. My favorite general cleaner is Windex Multi-Surface with Vinegar. Cleans everything, including the windshield nicely, and doesn't damage the finish. A follow up with Turtle Wax Ice polishes and detailer are all the Spyder, bikes, or collector cars ever seem to need, if done frequently. Just soap and water will do the trick on the brake dust or other crud quite well, though. Never use any of the wheel cleaners, they are way too harsh.

Simple green aircraft grade is good.Bout any cleaner degreaser will work if you wet it down with water before applying.Don't let it dry on the parts.

I've been using Suzuki motorcycle cleaner. You spray it on the whole bike and rinse it off with a hose.My wheels are painted and it does a great job. What's nice is you don't have to scrub anything, just spray and rinse. You can get two wash out of one bottle.I use to use Motul but can't find it anymore.
