• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cleaning 2015 RT Radiator

What is the best way to clean the radiator on a 2015 RT? We have a lot of Grasshoppers on the road this fall. Some go through the grill screen and there is no easy way to get them off the front of the radiator. I have just ordered a set of stainless steel Kott Grilles which I hope will take care of much of the problem.

That's why the KOTT Grilles were my first farkle, even before the bump skid. I've heard folks say they can be washed out fron behind the radiator but I don't know how you get the stuff out of the space between the BRP grill and the radiator without a lot of disassembly. FWIW I have 11,000 miles on my Spyder with perfectly clean radiators.

The KOTT will keep most of the junk from getting to the radiator but they still need to be removed periodically so you can clean behind them. A soft brush and warm soapy water will loosen the bugs so you can hose them off, unless they are really stubborn like giant grasshoppers.

I ALSO know hoppers. While my grills are plainly cluttered, I can also say that
I have not encountered any temp. issues at all. I do think the KOTT grilles
are probably a solid invest anyway. I know also, that many ryders are a
lot more focused on a clean machine than I am.

I just seem to be more interested in acquiring hoppers than I am in "losing" them.

Soaking...!!

there are several products to help remove bugs at your auto parts store. Soapy warm water works then garden hose on jet spray after soaking and they wash off. The sooner the better when they bake on the soaking gets longer...

Follow Up

I used half peroxide and half water and sprayed it on the radiator and left it soak for 10 mins. Used plenty of water and washed just about all of the bugs off the radiator. I just traded my 2013 RTS for a new 2015 RTS 3 weeks ago and have 600 miles on it now. There is much improvement on the 2015 over the 2013. Sure enjoy the way it handles. Have KOTT Grilles on the way, till then will stay off the highway.
