There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Chroming/Powdercoating Wheels

I will be removing the rear wheel to put on new rubber this Winter. I want to have the rear wheel and sprocket chromed while I have it off. I was hoping to get some insight from those of you who have had their wheel chromed or powder coated.

Can they chrome the rest, without chroming the teeth? Will chroming the sprocket cause a problem with the teeth meshing with the belt if the teeth are chromed?

Who did yours and about how much did that cost?

Should the sprocket and wheel be chromed together or as separate pieces?

Are there other things I need to consider?

Thanks,

Mark

Send a message to magic man he is doing chroming now I don't know about the Sprocket, I think they paint a masking on the teeth I would not want the teeth chromed might promote belt slippage.

chrome

They have to chrome the whole pully. But it does not cause any problems with the belt. Did all my parts last winter and everything worked out fine.

See my answers below your questions...

There is NO issue what so ever with chroming the teeth... I have mine chromed and it fits like a glove. whom ever tells you otherwise is not correct.

There are a lot of people that offer chroming. Cost varies. shop around. However I do recomend KewlMetal to do it. They are in the chroming business, their work and service is excellent and they love them Spyders...

Separate. Also, if you are chroming I strongly recommend you change the internals of the rear wheel... Bearings etc.. they are cheap.

Are there other things I need to consider?

Yes, If you are chroming the rear wheel I would recommend you also do front wheels, the brackets and pegs...
another thing to consider is: people will be stearing at you...:ohyea:

By the way, I saw your location... I used to live in Hartford CT !
