• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Chip

I'm a bit confused about this one... My RS is one week old (yesterday) and today, upon cleaning her, I noticed a chip on the trunk lid in the front. It's small, but the odd thing is it looks like the paint was chipped off, and it's rusting. I thought it was like fiberglass or something?

I'm taking it to the dealer next week for my 600 mile check up (passed it today :2thumbs:) but was curious if anyone else had this issue? they said they'd look at it for me, but I'm not sure what is the right thing to do, ask them to fix it or take it to a detailing place...

See if you can get the color to come off when cleaning it. Some bugs can be pretty hefty and a little more difficult to remove after making contact at speed.

I bought the XPS cleaning stuff and spray wax and did both and the coloring didn't come off. The main area is definitely a chip in the paint, but the colored area is weird. Hoping the dealer can do something. Most people won't notice, but now that I know it's there, it's an eyesore.

I understand completely. There are spots on my Spyder that I am well aware of that most people never pick up on as well. I do not like the fact they are there, but there is little that can be done about it now. Hopefully your dealer will be able to do something for yours. Best of luck.

The underlying plastic is black. That may be what you are seeing...possibly colored by some remaining paint.

I bought my Spyder used and I didn't notice that it has a small chip till I cleaned it. Pledge wiped the whole thing. I don't mind it though. Think of it as a mole. Haha.

When I'm on the road, I usually pay attention to the road conditions and stay 2 cars length behind the car in front of me. All to prevent rock chipping. I'm pretty sure everyone on this forum has at least 1 rock chip. Unless one doesn't ryde theirs at all.

Don't worry about it though. I guarantee you're the only one that knows its there.
