• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have the BRP backrest and I put a child car seat on the spyder and secured it with the seat belts to the backrest and the handlebars for the passenger. (2 separate belts that come with the seat). The third seat belt goes across the seat like standard seat belt in car and i strapped it to metal frame down below. It's very secure! Does anybody think putting a 14 month old or 3 year old on that seat is a bad idea? What if child wears helmet? If you're against this idea please don't yell at me I'm JUST EXPLORING at this point!!!! Just wanna hear folks' thoughts about it. I think it's reasonable but wife says No.

I wouldn't ride a 14 month old around on the Spyder or any motorcycle, with or without a car seat. At least not on the roads. 3 year old, maybe, but probably not. Really, the whole idea doesn't sound too safe to me.

If you're right, and maybe you are, then perhaps none of us should be riding...

It's too dangerous to let kids swim alone or go out alone eat alone shoot guns alone we are adults and being a father you don't purposly strap your kid to the back of a motorcycle we are adults we are not supposed to put our children in a situation that they could get hurt Spyder riding is an adult passtime that's like saying well it's my kid if I think it's safe it is if I want my kid to drink alchol I canlet them or get tattooed I deal with parent dayly that think because they gave birth have the right to sign a piece of paper to alolow them to get tattooed they saywell it my kid I say want to see what rights you have as a parent slap the kid in front of a cop see how long your parental rights carry ... Just my opinion... And you did ask

Agreed I did ask and i appreciate thoughts from others. But we all take risks every day; if i take my kid in car, that's a risk. Should the car be a tank? Should i only drive a volvo?

NO WAY!!!

I'm really sorry that you had the need to ask this question, and I'm not trying to jump down your throat. I don't know you personally.....but do me a favor, keep your children away from your bikes.
Way to dangerous, and it may not be you, but someone else that doesn't see you coming. That 's like strapping your babies car seat to the wing of an airplane. get the picture.
Oh, and by the way if you do decide to use the car seat, make sure the babies facing towards the rear until it's over 65 pounds.:banghead:
Just my opinion.

This sounds like an accident in the making. Do not take the risk of causing serious injury or death to a toddler or a small child. It is better to be safe than sorry. A motorcycle or a trike is not an enclosed vehicle for any child to be strapped on whether they have a helmet. :yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes:

Social services might come knocking on your door for negligence.... just a thought for you to seriously consider. It's a law not to leave a child in a car in a very hot temperature. People can also get in trouble if they leave their pets in the car as well. So, I think, taking a small child (toddler) in the back of your bike is a very unsafe and dangerous idea.

What if the child wears a helmet???
What if the childs hit by a Mac truck!!! you'll get more than a yelling from me....
Stop "EXPLORING" at this point, your first responsability is the safety of your children, and I don't think that Sky Diving is a good idea either.
If I was your wife, and you put our baby in harms way,...need I say more.

You probably wouldn't go too fast or far would you? If you're just riding around the neighborhood I don't see a huge risk. I see bicycles all the time with baby seats on the back or little trailers towed behind them. Everyone seems so paranoid these days.:dontknow:

Ok you all win but I'm just saying that, as a father of six, if this activity is SO DANGEROUS, maybe I should not ride AT ALL! I don't want to be hurt either! No one wants to be hurt! Let's all go back to our cars!
