• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Chestnuts roasting over a spyder seat?

Dan.

I don't know how else to put this but my family jewels are roasting on long rides. I'm thinking of wrapping my pipes to try to turn down the heat, any suggestions?

Which model Spyder, what year, how many miles, what mods?
All of these are relevant.
Wrapping pipes isn't the best solution. You very well may have a bad Y gasket. This is pretty common on RS models.
Otherwise ice cubes in your undies might help. Lol

It is possible, but it can also be the sun. It beats down pretty hard onto the horizontal part of your legs when seated. Could also be a combination.

choices, choices..!!

Spyderpops has several heat help items, wrapping the pipes also helps. You could also get the beaded cover to space you from the seat and get some air flow there...then you can stand up a bit from time to time...:roflblack:

i have both upper/lower block-off plates on and this year installed air-wings well the last mod fixed that same problem your having no more roasting that area so with both in play it's a wonderful life for a long ryde.

Have you pulled the splash pans on the bottom of the frame?

Heat wrapping the exhaust pipes helps too.

You could try an "Airhawk R" cool cushion seat pad, allows air to flow between the seat of your bike and your body.
