• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Check key error? Work key card messing with the system!

I have noticed over the last few days my F3 will pop up with a check key error and will not start. At one point it did it 5 times before it would decide to go away and start. Not sure I trust it not to strand me somewhere.

Searches, internet wise, comes up with mixed results. Have any of you guys heard of this before?

Ill search the forum as well.

Only change I have done this year is replace the battery.

Know someone in your area with BUDS2 with a Mastertech license? Get them to turn DESS off and you won't have to worry about it again.

I had the key error pop up a couple times on my 2014 RT. Mostly at refueling stops. I determined I was trying to do the re-start boot up to fast. Slowing down and letting everything click into place seemed to solve the problem for me. No problems since then.

OK. BIG UPDATE on this!!

I found the problem and why it was happening. I park in a parking garage at work, and I need my work key card to get in and out. it happened when I went to leave today. 5 Times in a row. Well, I went to grab the key to take it out again, and I had laid my key card right in front of the key. I hit the card so I threw it in my glove box because I was pissed.
The bike finally started. So I went to the liquor store. Coming out, I jumped on the bike and it started fine. Then I thought about the common denominator. My key card

I got home, and pulled my key card out. Put it in front of the key. Turned on the ignition, and got the check key message. Turned it off, and threw my key card in the glove box. Turned the key and no error. 5 times I could recreate the issue. it was my work key card screwing with the system!

My machine is ok. You guys have no idea how happy I am right now.

My experience with a key card resulted in removal from a certain strategic organization near central US with armed (live ammunition) military guards on either side of me. I didn't want to be there anyway but was cajoled into going back. Boring.
