• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Check Engine on

After my 2011 RT sat for about two months with an almost empty gas tank, I added two gallons of very old gas (at least 6 months old). When I headed to the gas station to fill up with fresh premium gas. the "Check Engine" light came on. I checked for codes and found P0171 & P0174 ( fuel injection or fuel problems for both cylinders). I suspect that the stale gas caused the codes. Any suggestions?

Gas goes bad

From Owner's Manual:
"NOTICE: Always use fresh gasoline. Gasoline will oxidize; the result is loss of octane, volatile compounds, and the production of gum and varnish deposits which can damage the fuel system."

I'd contact your dealer. Most likely your fuel injectors got clogged. You can try putting one of those fuel injector cleaners in the tank and topping off with Top Tier gas. There are a lot of fuel system cleaners out there.

Next time you plan on storing your Spyder for a while make sure you pour some fuel stabilizer in the tank and top it off. Empty tank will rust.

This is the stabilizer I use:

Fuel system cleaners I use:

I hope that helps.

Lets see....

I would drain the tank and fill it with a good source of gasoline with some injector cleaner added and do some ryding preferably fast spurt. This should help clean out the system. Repalce the fuel filter as well as they do not clean up well...May take a tank or two to get you back to normal....

Partly plugged fuel filter or injectors.

I would drain all the gas. Replace the fuel filter. Fill with fresh fuel and add some Seafoam.
