Check Engine Light

We have a 2010 RS SE5 that just had the first service done last week. Was going to ride to work this morning but after shifting from 3rd to 4th gear the check engine light came on with a message "Check Engine". This has not happened before. The manual just says remove and reinsert key as solution. This has happened twice since the service. Has anyone else seen this problem? Is it a problem or just a fluke? Decided to come back home and get car as was unsure about making it to work on :spyder2:.

Its more than likely your shifting switch, happen to me, some times check Tran will show up all so. A sign that the switch is bad, warning lights go out after you hit the shifter again.

WE have a RT SE 5 an it did the same thing, I think it's just a fluk to. We were headed out on a ride to south FL when it did it. After a few miles it went out so I kept gonig with no problem.

The dealer can hook your Spyder up to BUDS to see the past fault codes, and determine the cause. It happens from time to time as a fluke, but a repeated or constant check engine light indicates a problem that should be addressed. There are many possible causes.
