• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

check engine light

oneway

My bikes down and it's going to be 75 today :gaah:Check engine light came on last week. Ran like it was on one cylinder. Got it home, checked fault codes, were none. Called closest shop, 4 days later bike picked up, no spark front cyclinder. Shopped changed coil pack and plugs, no go. Seems to be a short in wiring harness. Shop will call BRP to get go ahead on ordering new wiring harness. :helpsmilie:Almost 9000 miles on bike. First and hopefully last breakdown.

One day job if your mechanics have previous experience+ one week for the wiring harness to arrive from BRP. I hope you'll rYde the Spyder soon, now that the Fl temperatures are back to 80-ish.

I had a similar problem with mine last summer, #1 cylinder was dead. If your check engine light was on, there should have been a corresponding code. I checked mine and believe it was a P0351, #1 coil shorted to 12v or to ground. I trailered it to the dealer but when they diagnosed it, they said the coil was ok. They found that the ECM was the problem. I guess it wasn't sending the signal to the coil or was shorted. It's been fine since they changed it.:f_spider:

on the road again

Spyryder you were right on with the ECM being the problem. Two weeks down but :clap:again. Action cycles in Bradenton Fl. Thank You. Got it home, put my ESI highway pegs and throttle lock and ready to go.

Glad to hear they got it sorted out and you are back on the road. :2thumbs:

This also lets others know what to be thinking about if the check engine light comes on for their Spyders. Thanks for sharing.
