• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

check DPS limp home mode

Mine on my first day, insert key and turn to the "on" position, the fender lights came on and the fuel pump ran -- but blank dash and no crank. A few minutes later of going through various procedures, insert key and everything is "normal". Maybe a week before it acts up and of course never did it at the dealer. Then during Bike Week, the same routine except check engine, limp home mode, crank, but not start. Right now an ignition switch and security module are on order. First repair shop tried battery charge, tighten battery cables, replace ECM and instrument cluster -- all to no avail. Starting 3rd week in shop.

Just had a talk with our dealer, and he asked us to post this. They had a few customers that got the DPS fault and limp home mode. Some were intermittent. One had the power steering box replaced, then the fault returned after just nine miles. After much searching, calling BRP, and scratching their heads, all to no avail, they just tore apart a demo and started replacing parts. Found the problem was in the yaw sensor magnets. Replaced the yaw (steering) sensor, and the problems were resolved. If you have this difficulty, have the dealer try this cure.

Mine now has check dps and I have no power steering. I am going to put it in the shop this week. My normal luck, everything I buy breaks. The shop is telling me 2 weeks for parts after they find the problem, I am going to miss most of July riding. :dontknow:

That one sure sounds more like the steering box than any sensor. Sorry to hear about your woes. Maybe it is just that every flaw gets exposed here, but it sure seems like there is a high incidence of certain failures on the Spyder, especially for the small number of them produced. I suppose that is true to some extent with any new product, but with all their prolonged testing and development for this one, it is a bit surprising.

Mine never went into "limp home" mode, just stopped power steering in the middle of the turn. Still in the shop, power steering pump has been in for 2 weeks, i hope you get better service than i've gotten. almost 4 weeks now. :(

Been waiting on a standard windshield and one body panel for warranty repairs now for two months! BRP's parts stock and delivery seems to be a lot like that for the actual Spyders...slow. I think they are putting everything they have into building the new ones, have already strained their parts suppliers with higher than expected demand, and are behind in everything now. Dealer says he leans on them weekly, to no avail. Ours is rideable, but with your situation, I would be demanding an extension of the warranty. We will keep our fingers crossed for you.

Heck, i don't have a problem with something like the dps going out Scotty, (well, yeah, but that isn't my beef). The issue i have is the terrible service afforded me by jax power sports. Every time i call i get lied to. But i do know the pump has been in the shop for 2 weeks now. I expect some things to go wrong with the :spyder: , heck, we accepted that when we bought a first year production, growing pains are to be expected. Still love my :spyder: , just wish i was ryding, typical afternoon thunderstorms and all.
