• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Chauvinistic Pig?

So me and a buddy are sitting outside eating dinner. I parked my Spyder across the street where I had a great view of it. We notice two cute girls walk by and start looking around at it. All of a sudden one of the girls climb up and sit down on the bike while the other took her picture. Normally if it was a dude...I would have yelled at him to get off my bike, but since it was a girl, I just let it slide. Who doesn't want a cute girl sitting on his bike. Does that make me a chauvinistic pig?

I hope not!

Hopefully the women Spyder riders will be kind with your remarks! :)

This was the first time this has happened with my Spyder. How do most people respond when other people are sitting on your bike?

 I guess that I'm just a Curmudgeon... At the first sign of a "furtive glance"; I'm out of my chair, and walking toward them... nojoke

OF course we are a chauvinistic pig, its in the DNA.

I added a proximity alarm and this sign and a quick rain cover.

Just me--but no one sits on my bike without permission. The one time it happened, it was a young boy who's mom stood by and watched the whole thing. I saw it happening from the restaurant window, but it took me a bit to get outside and tell the kid he was not supposed to be on the bike. Mother and child went off in a huff.

People that don't know squat about bikes can cause damage by kicking and scratching the Tupperware, can break things by playing with switches or levers--etc. If they break something--good luck getting them to pay for it.

I am selective about where and when I park in public. Don't carry a cover--but have not felt the need to use one for protection.

;) I just want to make sure, that I get asked... :D
...And can make sure that they're not kicking the stuffing out the bike's finish!

Well....

Never caught anyone...have been asked...and have offered. But I am of the school of you should ask first...I should be present...:lecturef_smilie:

I don't mind when folks ask, and I'm usually happy to let them give it a try.
I recall one instance when a Mother and her Son were walking by the bike. The kid was eyeballing it up pretty well; as he touched the bars, his Mom quickly slapped his hand away, and I watched her scold him about touching stuff, that didn't belong to him.

No one sits on my bike unless asked. It,s rude to think that you can touch other people's property with out permission. If she was really cute and nude well that's a different story.

The shop manager of my auto repair business is a female. This works well because when women come in, they are more comfortable speaking to another woman, and when men come in they like to speak to her because we are all pigs.:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: The other reason is, she's a great shop manager.

muddy seat

we came off the trail at Watkins Glen to find a muddy seat where someone's shoe slid across the seat. It would be nice to find out which car was there's and get inside behinde the wheel. See how they would react.

In the 45 years I've owned motorcycles, No one has ever helped themselves to my ride. Since we bought the spyder the first of the year, it's happened twice. I wonder if it's because it's so new and different to some people or it's less intimidating about getting on and not having to hold it up. Either way, I don't care for people helping themselves like that. As Rodney would say "No Respect"
