• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Charlotte is home

The Spyder is home as you can guess from the heading her name is Charlotte. She came in and woke me up at 6:00 am to tell me that. All went well at the bank doing the paperwork thought since the branch I finalized the purchase at was different from the branch I started with they had to do all the stuff all over again. I was a little intimidated by the Spyder at 1st but the seller spent enough time with me that I felt comfortable in driving her home. Got home about 9:30 last night had to ride quite a bit in the dark. I love the driving lights but the high beams to me are useless. There is no apparent difference between high and low. Great ride otherwise. I haven't had so much fun since I left the 2 wheel world. I took everybody's advice and let her rev. I never got her into 5th gear until out on the freeway.3rd gear is like on my Royal Star, you can go slow or run it up to 60 and goes just great.I could not remember how to get into reverse. I was at my son in law's house and he googled it for me and then it was easy.I also figured that if I push the parking brake before I turn it off she wont scream at me. My grandkidslove riding with Grandpa and promptly announced that the Spyder was "really cool".
It was supposed to rain today but I had enough space between showers to go over to the Rat Fink reunion in Manti and find a pin striper there to give Charlotte a little character. Shayne Syx an old line Roth pin striper did the honors . The rain kept me from getting a finished picture but I'll get one tomorrow.

Congrats

If you can't tell the difference between low beam and high beam , then you may want to consider upgrading to the factory HID Xenon headlights or to an aftermarket LED headlight bulb replacement. The HID Xenon headlights will hit you in the wallet, but the difference is well worth it. I have now even upgraded my fog lights to HID Xenon made by XENON DEPOT which you cane find here on SL. Both upgrades are definitely worth it. P.S. I did the HID fog light upgrade myself.

Congratulations..!!

glad the paperwork got done, the instructions given and agood ryde home was taken...:2thumbs: and...you already have your first farkel...:yes: enjoy and be safe..

And now; the FUN begins!!:yes::yes:

:congrats:. look in the Manuel for adjusting head lights. It's fairly simple. Do you have after market shocks? If so that might affect headlights.

Welcome, Wecome & Welcome

Yep the smiles just get bigger and better. And welcome to the "Coolest Grandparent club"...even my high schoolers have me 'pick them up OUT FRONT'....for all the world to see and they announce I have the coolest gramma ever!!!!:yes:

Concratulations!

:congrats:Congratulations on your new Spyder. Thinking back to when I first brought home my RT, I can identify with your joy. I know you will enjoy your new ride, as will your grandkids!

But... don't you think it's a little soon to name her? What, if after you get to know her a little while, she turns out to be more suited to the name Gretchen, or Gerty, or Vanessa, or Natasha, or Monique, or even Jezebel? Or... what if, Heaven forbid, it turns out to be a "boy Spyder" you are riding? (It's kind of difficult to turn a new RT over on its back to check.) Then you'd have to start all over again with Darrell, or Damon, or Sebastian or Chuck... ;)

So you didn't believe me when I said SHE came and woke me to tell me her name was Charlotte as in Charlotte's Web the book for children. No one could have been more surprised then me. I have never had a female bike. They have all been males, most with some variation on Pegasus. Except for the White Honda Trike I just sold. I just called it Frank. I never knew its name in over 4 years but Frank was my good friend and the previous owner so that was as good as any. This one is Female and her name is Charlotte she told me and I said ok I always liked that name anyway, now leave me alone so I can get some sleep and we will go play later and I'll introduce you to some other neat people and get you some new farkles and she did.
