• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

well i have a 2020 rtl dark ,,,i wanted to change my rims to the fat chrome wheels from brp,,the local dealer said the discontinued them,,so i found a set ont ebay and had them shipped to the house,,the closest brp dealer is 2 and a half hours away,.so my question is,, can local tire shops change and balance these rims out or do bike dealers have special equipment our rim sizes for bikes

The simply answer is YES, they should be able to do all that fairly readily, IF they have already or are prepared to & can get the correct sized cones/collars to hold the Spyder rims with their tiny centre holes onto their gear! :lecturef_smilie:

But the more important question for you is not CAN they so much as WILL they?!?

If they don't already have the correct cones/collars, and there aren't a lot of Spyders or SmartCars around to make buying them in worthwhile, it could be more than they are prepared to do for such a relatively small job &/or little in the way of on-going business. Maybe you could offer to buy the right cones/collars so they can do the job for you?? :dontknow:

Good Luck!

Most auto shops can do tire changes on the front wheels. The smaller axle size on the rear is better handled by a m/c shop.

My local tire shop sold me Federal Formoza tires for the fronts and did the mounting and balancing. All on a ride in ride out basis. They are a full service garage and while getting an oil change on the car, I showed them a photo of the Spyder and asked if they'd want to do the front tires. Seeing it was just like a car's, they agreed. BTW; The Formoza's only took 1/2 ounce each to balance. Nice.
