• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Changing Oil

Just had my oil changed by dealer. Cost about $160. Want to do it myself. Any videos or step by step instructions available. Not very handy with motor vehicles.:opps:

In the middle of changing the oil and making a couple of mods myself and just to let you know. That new filter set up for the transmission is more then a pain, you don't have to be a magician to tighten the hidden bolt you have to be enchanted. At least I don't have to deal with it for another 4600 miles.

Where can we get the new filter cover

Good day!
I have not been able to find availability on the new oil filter cover.
Found plenty of new filter though.

Would you know where can I order either:HCM oil filter: (P/N 420 256 454) filter
(P/N 420 211 504) COVER

or just the filter cover (P/N 420 211 504) as I already have the filter

thx.

You should get the New Cover FREE from the dealer when you purchase the New Tranny Filter. (Before May 2013 to get it free)

I whish, not in Canada yet, so I am looking for US options.
I just want to insure that if I am ordering from a US dealership that the cover will come with it.

Any recommandation on a dealer who I could be contacting for a mail order (ideally North East USA)

Did my 1st oil change and in fact the SM5 does not need a new oil cap with the new filter!

Changing the oil gave me an opportunity to get to know a little my RSS.
I followed the BRP instrauction and also review the tread from Lamonster.

All in all it was fairly easy apart the oil tank bolt which took some patience.
Had also had a torque ranch, so next time it should be a little easier.

It makes me want to open it more!

Total for the oil change below $ 100 with tax.
