• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Changing oil on 2010 RT SE5

How on God's green earth do you get to this Allen bolt to take out put, back in, and most of all torque. The one for the Trans SE5.

Bolt

There is a thread on here somewhere where Lamont drilled a hole thru the brace big enough to get a socket thru. Or you could remove the brace to get to the bolt.

I noticed something about that on someone else's thread this morning. Just looked at the manual, and it says to change that trans filter every 12,000 mi.
Last oil change that was done , was done by a dealer 2700 miles ago, and I would assume that the dealer probably changed it at that time, because that was done at 13,277, so maybe I don't really need to do it.
Just like to do things right, and this is really raising the blood pressure trying to figure out how to do it without altering or putting a hole somewhere that doesn't belong.

But the hole does belong! BRP just forgot to put it in until later years! My 2013 RT had a hole in the brace from the factory.

I got it done, Eventually, and won't tell how long it took. Also found out that during this process I found out that the last dealer that worked on it to change oil had broken two fastening tabs where it connect to the left side luggage compartment, and cracked the hole on the same panel (rear side panel) where it screws down under back side of seat. Also just found out that one of the clips (lower) on the mirror is broken. Will have to see if
local dealer has that. None of the local dealers even carry rubber gromets, and have to special order them.

I looking at the maintenance schedule booklet that is the supplement to the owners guide it shows the HCM filter being changed on the same schedule as the oil filter every 4600 mi. I have alwayd changed my HCM filter when I changed my oil and oil filter.

Original manuals spec'd to change the trans filter at every other oil change. After some expensive warranty repairs BRP changed this to require the transmission oil filter be changed at ever oil change. So it depends on the age of the manual as to what you will find for service intervals. But for the price of a transmission, I would highly recommend changing the trans filter at every oil change. Cheap insurance.
