• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Who here has changed there rear RT tire to a car tire? What are your feeling on the new tire? :chat: :ani29:

installed a falken 912 took wheel into kal tire and had them instal, would have installed it myself but was afraid i would mark the rim.It wouldnt fit balancer so brougt it home and was going to static balance it.took off all weights set it up and didnt have to balance it.have about 600 km now and no vibration at all.running 30 psi:2thumbs:

Just had a Kuhmo Ecsta AST installed on my RTS. Put in 28 lbs. of air and about 16 oz. of Ride-On. With the stock Kenda tire I got a noise when I got up to about 60mph. With the Kuhmo it is quiet. I don't know if it was the tire or the balance.
I believe the Kenda must have been a soft compoud, because I never heard a squeal on acceleration. I did my normal take off from a stoplight today and the Kuhmo squealed. In my 8000 miles maybe I was harder on the tire than I thought I was.
A motorcycle shop charged $20 to change withouy any additional disposal fee.

Rear tires

I just replaced wifes rear tire this afternoon it was the Nitto Nt450 it had 10,500mi. , I switched to a 215/60-15 Douglas Gt from Walmart $74 with tax, am looking for more mileage and less hydroplaning, the slightly narrower tread should help in the rain,we are planning a 2011 trip from southeast texas to Alaska and am trying to find a tire with acceptable performance that will hold up to a 12,000mi. trip am already running car tire on the rear of my Venture. She likes this tire, started to put a Michelin Hydroedge, I know this is a great tire but with the 90,000mi. rating afraid she might lose grip, the Douglas is a 40,000mi. tire but switching to 215/60-15 opens a whole world of tire choices, just my opinion but 7,000-8,000 mi. is unacceptable. My wife rides about 25,000mi. per year, i need better mileage. I am starting the 215 off at 18 psi.
