• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am thing about ordering the CHAD for my :spyder2:, question is does it mount in the stock mounting holes are do you have to drill new ones.

Is better than the Madstad, or should I get the Madstad brackets and just use my Givi?:dontknow:

It uses the stock holes. No drilling required.

Some people like the Madstad.... all personal preference. I have the Chad and at 6'2" it needs another couple of inches of height for me. I'm hoping they come out with a taller or different shaped model. It is a huge improvement over the stock shields though.

Now, I personally love the CHAD mounting bracket. It is very solid and allows me to mount my phone and GPS RAM mounts on it -up in my field of view.

Love the CHAD

6'0" and I love my CHAD. I highly suggest that you get the half black half clear shield. The black hides the mounting hardware from view. Uses the stock holes and adjusts easily.

Overall, I like the CHAD, but had a few issues/observations during my install (http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14359):

"When I got home, I installed my CHAD. For the price I paid, I was very disappointed with the quality of the mounting bracket. Industries 7 either needs to make the holes bigger or get a new template, because nothing lines up. I tried some subtle bending, but that didn't work, so I broke out the drill and made the holes oval-shaped in the up-down alignment.

Also, the bolts supplied are about useless for the windshield. As others suggested, I use the BRP bolts on the windshield and the supplied bolts on the mounting bracket. And it would have been nice if the supplied bolts were Torx and not hex so you can use the same tool."

We have the Madstad on our machines and yes, it is a bit tedious to adjust. Once it is adjusted we leave 'em alone. Ken krb1945
