• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

CHAD Question

I have noticed small swirl scratches or marks (almost looks like smudges) on my Chad. I have been very careful with the Lexan shield and have used no ammonia products and always use micro fiber towels when cleaning. Don't know why they are there; but does anyone know of a product that will polish lexan without doing any further damage. I don't want to imply that the scratches or smudges are bad it is just not as clear as other shields I have owned. Your opinions would be appreciated.:f_spider:

There is the lexan scratch remover you can get. It's in a white bottle w/ red letters. NOVUS makes it. They also make a cleaner too - white bottle w/ blue letters.

I've tried it on mine - helps.

I've got the same problem on mine. I think brake fluid from a leaky clutch reservoir did it to mine.

I'm going to buff mine out in the spring when I'll be riding more. I'm also into fish keeping, and there are numerous ways to buff/polish acrylic that Should work on the CHAD.

I plan on using some of the tips I found at http://aquariacentral.com/ to do mine. I don't think you need to really sand out the blemishes as I've found suggested on other forums. Simply buffing with a fine compound should do the trick... I'm going to practice first on a spare piece of Lexan/plexi before I dare touch the chad.

We have had the same issue, even using our up-till-now favorite product from Novus. Seem to have had success with the swirls using Can-Do, a spray product from Saeng-TA. Can-Do is a great product for most other parts of the Spyder, including the flat black plastic on the front, suspension covers, skirt, etc.

Have you tried Plexus Plastic Cleaner? I use it on my whole bike, Shield and all. Hey it even removed a lot of scratches on my cell phone screen.
Much to the disappointment of my two Sons, Who keep on telling me to get a new phone old man.
Gee it only took me two years to figure this one out.:dontknow:

Yes, I do have Plexus. It seems to make it look better for a while, but it eventually ends up looking the same. Don't think Plexus actually removes scratched, but just covers them up for a while. Ditto on the cell phone:D
