• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. CB-XM-GARMIN ZUMO 590 on 2014 RT -HELP

Hi, I'm a new member here, Bought my 2014 Spyder (after 4 Harleys!) and absolutely love it. I just added a CB, XM Satellite kit and a Garmin Zumo GPS. Having a heck of a time getting everything to work. It's been to the dealer twice & still not right.
I have the Can Am wired communication headset. The XM goes on intermittently, when it stops receiving I get a high pitched tone and no music. I tried unplugging the headset, tried turning off the GPS, neither made a difference. Also, the headset/gps pairs with my cellphone by cannot make/receive calls. I am at my wits end. Spent a fortune and none of it works seamlessly. :( Any ideas??? :gaah:

As far as the cellphone pairing, you need to buy a the Cellphone Interface Cable (219400390) to activate the headset to the GPS device which is paired to your phone. It plugs in between your CB radio connectors and plugs into the microphone jack of the GPS harness.

Also, make sure the installed the latest part/model of each piece (CB radio comm kit 219400611, XM radio 219400612, Entertainment harness 219400610)

I added ground to the CB radio and the CB antenna. I then added RF chokes to the driver and passenger DIN cables. They install the following on my '14: CB 219400532, XM 219400445, ET harness 219400439.

Steve, Thanks, I am SO confused. Supposedly everything is the latest & greatest. The wired headset doesn't say it's a Sena, it is Can Am Communication headset 4474380090. The put in the CB module, the entertainment harness, the XM Satellite kit. If I don't have the cellphone interface cable and add it, then can I have the CB and the phone work through the headset and the XM and GPS directions through the speakers? I only ride solo, so never need to worry about a passenger. My husband & I do long rides, like cross country, so really need the CB to function as well.

XM

Any idea why the XM would stop playing music and I get a high pitched tone? Then, suddenly it comes back on. At high speeds I had a constant high pitched tone today, didn't get music back until I dropped under 68 MPH, then it was intermittent.

The cellphone interface allows the phone to connect to the headset via the GPS device. The XM and GPS will all go to the headset as well. Everything will go to the headset. You can also turn on the external speakers as well. The systems work off priorities. The GPS is first, CB second, etc. For example, if you are listening to your XM and you get GPS directions, CB transmission, or a phone call, the system overrides the music for a higher priority device. The GPS will override a phone call, etc.

The CB antenna is terrible. Just about everyone upgrades the anntenna to the J&M Spyder CB antenna. PM me tomorrow and I will give you my number. Feel free to call me with any questions or concerns. Off to the movies. Make sure you get the boxes and the installation instructions sheets for all the devices.

My high pitch went away when I added the RF chokes to the DIN cables.
