CB Adapter Kit Part #?

HI, I'm a new member to the Forum, and I'm hoping someone can help me find a part number. We recently traded our 2011 Spyder RT for a 2015 Spyder RT-S, and I hoping to transfer the CB radio from the 2011 to our new ride. I have seen posts that indicate there was an adapter kit for making this transfer, but after looking through 17 pages of threads, I have not been able to find the part number. Can someone please help?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Found part of it!

I found a thread that had the part number (PN 219400535) for an update kit that includes a metal bracket and an extension cable(s). Now I just need to find out which entertainment harness to use. I'm pretty sure the one from our 2011 RT (PN 219400201) will not work due to a change in the wiring for the driver headset. However, I'm not sure if I need the newest entertainment harness (PN 219400610) or the intermediate one (PN 219400439).

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

The update kit # is actually 219400617. Believe it or not the price is $1.80! It has a mounting plate and 2 10 pin extension harnesses.

I haven't gotten it accomplished yet, but as you can see in my sig pic I have the trunk module off to install a CB. I plan to use my older entertainment harness with a 2015 CB radio. I'll let you know in a few days how it works out. From what I have checked so far the older entertainment harness should work OK. The bit with the driver headset connection is a section of wiring that was part of the factory harness that connected the ET harness to the driver headset has been removed. The driver headset harness is changed in that the new one is longer and has a female pin connector on it that plugs into the entertainment harness. The old driver hs harness had a male pin connector.

So to do your change over you'll need the update kit, 219400617, and a new driver headset harness. I don't have a part number for the driver harness. I'll see if I can get it from the SL member from whom I bought the CB radio. He sent me the driver harness and radio unit but nothing else. You can also see if the dealer will download the installation instructions for the new CB radio. It will list the harness and part number.

Hope this helps.

Thank you

Thank you - that was exactly the info I needed. It sounds like I paid way too much ($35) for the same update kit with an older part number. I was able to get a copy of the new CB (219400611) instructions and it lists the part number for the longer driver headset harness with the female plug.

It also answers a lot of questions about the volume issues on the AM/FM radio versus intercom versus cb radio that I have seen posted. It was interesting to note that the passenger headset volume can only be adjusted while the intercom or cb is active (e.g. transmitting sound to the passenger). This is normally the case when listening to the AM/FM radio but it requires a different effort to adjust the cb or intercom volume.
