In the process of installing the Tri-Axis handlebars this week the ignition module had to be removed from the old handlebar and installed on the new one. The instructions say to remove both the frunk release cable and seat release cable from the module. When I installed the cables back onto the module I discovered I had broken the end of the mounting nubbins (they're plastic) that are on the ends of the cable housings. I seated the cables into the module the best I could and added a cable tie around them and the module to keep them in place.
Well, I guess it didn't work too well. Today I found out the key will no longer open the frunk. :banghead: Apparently my fix, didn't. I haven't done it yet but I think I can pull the entire cable tight with a cable tie and get it to work. This will be a temporary work around until I can fix the cables, or replace them - a wintertime project since everything will have to come off again.
SO, A WORD TO THE WISE!!! :lecturef_smilie: :lecturef_smilie: If you have to take the ignition module off for any reason, BE CAREFUL when pulling the cables free from the module. The ends will break easily and you won't even know it until it's too late!
