• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Catalytic converter removal

Since I had two bad plug wires replaced along with a fire in the muffler from all the raw gas I feel that my :spyder2: is not performing as well as it did before. I have no way to check for damage to the catalytic converter but I was wondering about removing it completely. Spoke to the dealer and of course they do not recommend it and they also told me that it would not be replaced under warranty. If I remove it from the exhaust system what type of problems might I incur. Will it affect the computers ability to properly meter the fuel to the engine.

Thanks; I will take some time this week-end to remove the muffler and see what it takes to get rid of the cat.

New muffler.
:agree:

That is what is so heavy in the muffler. And why nearly every aftermarket Muffler advertises 7+lbs in weight loss. They do not have the Converter in them, just a muffler...

Now the RT is a different story. The Converter is a separate item...

muffler

let us know what happens, with pics, if you can. you can never know too much.

Quite a few here in NZ have been getting the converter taken out and some baffles and it is recomended you use a Juice Box or similar, It gives a bit deeper tone which sounds great but you get a bit of popping without the JB. Also a slight gain in HP but also a bit more fuel hungry.
