Cat gone pipe

Recieved the cat delete pipe from lamonster yesterday.
went out at 1:30 today to put it on.
finished at about 3:30, basically an easy installation,
but I had to walk away a few times due the springs, and a few bad words.
let it idle for 10 minutes, went for a short ryde seems to be running fine

What'd you use to pull that top spring? :dontknow:
I always use a t-handled puller (a remnant from my two-stroke tuning days...)
With it: I have yet to find a spring that I can't remove. :thumbup:

I had my Lamonster pipe and QQ baffle fitted by my dealer on Tuesday (20 mins) while he was doing the chassis reinforcement
recall work. Rode the 130 miles home and I have to say that I like the sound. The performance hasn't been adversely
affected but I think I'm likely to use more fuel as I like to listen to the motor singing at higher revs!hyea:

I loosened the front clamp on the exhaust. Made the spring removal and re-install much easier.

Yes, that it how I did mine way back when...I explained it to others but most often the folks tell me that is more difficult. Absolutely not. No spring puller needed and takes about ten minutes to do the swap.

I believe it was your thread I read on loosening the clamp.:bowdown: No spring removal tool or cuss words needed. :yes:

Get 10 feet of parachute cord. Pass cord thru spring. Have helper pull cord from back of bike. Do all three. Takes 35 seconds. Remove clamp, remove bolt, remove muffler.slide cat off rubber donut. Remove "cat". Install bypass, springs first. Hang muffler loosely, connect muffler to bypass with clamp. Tighten muffler bolt. Done. 20 minutes, tops. At least on a 1330 RT.

:agree: I watched as Ann pulled the cord while Joe disengaged the springs when replacing my Cat with the bypass. No curse words necessary. :bowdown:
